Absolutely loved it!

My list of big house jobs includes 'declutter' in every room so I was hoping to put off doing it be inspired. Loved Stacey Solomon though would have liked more from Ivan on the cleaning.

Thank you!

JamMakingWannaBe · 28/01/2023 04:27

Joe often seems to be "in the area" and it's funny to think he's popped in past to hang your curtains and stick handles to your IKEA drawers!

Meredusoleil · 28/01/2023 07:10

What I want to know is, does Stacey personally know the families on the show? She always seems so friendly and close to them. Not like they are meeting for the first time kind of thing!

EspeciallyDetermined · 28/01/2023 09:07

Perhaps she gets to meet them in the later stages of selection, or before filming starts. She posted yesterday that they are planning for another series.

MoltenLasagne · 28/01/2023 10:03

I loved this latest episode. They seemed a really lovely family, especially the 11 year old conspiring with Stacey to keep some of her old makeup to give to the little one to stop her raiding her stuff.

Did think it was going to be difficult for her sharing a room but that's the reality for a lot of families in rented. I just wish they'd shown a few more tips on how to make it workable.

Who’s watching?

I will watch on catch up on Friday.

EspeciallyDetermined · 01/02/2023 21:25

I am. Another lovely family.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 01/02/2023 21:29

I'm waiting on getting my internet fixed and I am watching but it's buffering terribly Sad

Dottymug · 01/02/2023 21:35

Such a sweet family. £2000 lying around the house though!

HufflepuffRavenclaw · 01/02/2023 21:38

2 grand in the house. Fuck me.

I have always said that having one half of a couple with hoarding tendencies or overly sentimental about everyday objects is not an issue. But most of these families have TWO adults who are as bad as each other.

Stacey is so lovely about it though, while sorting them out and making a real difference.

ColinRobinsonsFart · 01/02/2023 21:52

I was interested when they were talking about cross generation hoarding.
DH lived in the house his grandparents had lived in - then his mum and dad and then him. House was new when bought by grandparents.
he met me and we sold his house.

three generations of stuff in the loft was….challenging. All the Christmas and birthday cards every sent to the house in all that time had been kept. Boxes and boxes and bags… he wanted everything in his house to be brought to mine.
I suggested he go through all of the cards and pick out the special ones - got rid of the ‘front ivy at number 4’ types. We sold some of my ikea type furniture to make space for his grandparents bedroom furniture.

but we still have a house worth of small electric gadgets in the loft…. And pans…

we found some treasures which we have stored safely - eg his parents love letters during the war and the letters from when his mum was in hospital when DH was born.

DH still wants to keep stuff ( I noticed last year’s Christmas cards are now in a drawer!) but we both work hard at keeping on top of it.

this programme makes me cry!

I am. Another lovely family.

They were lovely!

i was amazed that they found £2000 - some in uncashed cheques. Wonder what they can do with those

Someo · 01/02/2023 22:37

2k?! I thought she was going to pass them about £20 in change she'd found down the sofa.

Christ.

UnfortunatePoster · 02/02/2023 08:21

Isn’t there a time limit on cheques? I definitely have shed envy now, the organisation in there was great, and his reaction was very touching.

Stacey is great, I have a lot of time for her - I also can’t relax if my house is chaotic.

newnamethanks · 02/02/2023 09:17

Cat tray. In their bedroom complete with spatter. Oh god. Stacey does seem utterly lovely, I couldn't do her job, I'm not at all nice and, compelling as these programmes are, they make me itchy.

PermanentTemporary · 02/02/2023 09:21

Really enjoyed this episode. It does make me feel rubbish about some of the things ds had to put up with when he was little - i get hoarding reactions when I'm stressed and stuff builds up. He's a very organised young adult now and very minimalist.

Who did the mother last night look like ? A cross between Stacey Dooley and Hillary duff ? I don't know she really looks like someone famous

How was the mum just laughing all the time. Seemed disingenuous and immature. Surely they can't be parenting those children properly in such a mess I mean cooking , cleanliness of clothing, cleanliness of bed sheets and children must be an issue as well?

She seemed more naive and out of it than him I thought

swedex · 02/02/2023 11:42

Just watching now .... the warehouse 😳😳😳

newnamethanks · 02/02/2023 11:44

Although I wouldn't mind being in a position to mislay 2k and having it lying around unnoticed. If they can do that then they should get a cleaner who will help them stay on top of it.

mogtheexcellent · 02/02/2023 11:49

I watched last night for the first time. They were a really sweet family. so young. now watching some of the older episodes while wfh.

ShillyShallySherbet · 02/02/2023 11:53

I love this series. The families are always so lovely, obviously messy people are the loveliest.

I discovered this series last week and have been bringing it ever since. I’ve had a massive sort out since watching it to which is great. I found close to £400 in random notes whilst sorting out paperwork too!

ShillyShallySherbet · 02/02/2023 11:53

Binging not bringing it

swedex · 02/02/2023 12:00

and now the 2 grand! Hope they pay for a cleaner every month with that!

FeltCarrot · 02/02/2023 12:48

I love the white shirt that Dolly was wearing, don’t suppose anyone knows where it was from?
