Anyone watching? I love this series and fancy Perez Grin He seems to have some extra timber on him.. I don’t like him in a suit, much prefer a fishermans knitted jumper on him..

Where were we left when the last series ended? Did he get together with someone? Someone who seemed to have shady motives? I can’t remember!

Was the son shot by his father? All a bit confusing that scene.

longtompot · 03/11/2021 22:58

I thought the cake fridge was a wonderful idea! Imagine, a long walk in the countryside, get a bit peckish. Low! A fridge full of cake! Mmmm.

I thought Donna was thinking of stabbing Duncan until the nurse came into the room.
Were the intruders responsible for the kids shooting, or was it his dad not knowing who was who and having a massive panic attack?
I loved the chat between Tosh and her bf. "Do you wannae dig any deeper, I can still see your head " grin]

LoisWooookersonsLastNerve · 03/11/2021 23:03

Honesty fridges are quite common in rural Scotland, we have a milk one near us. Saves standing about in the pissing rain waiting on three customers in 8 hoursGrin
Anyway, I think the nurse is too good to be true. The ending tonight was brutalSad

LoisWooookersonsLastNerve · 03/11/2021 23:08

It was his Dad I thought who shot him?

ChoccyJules · 03/11/2021 23:14

I‘m in two minds about the nurse, they could just be lining her up to keep Perez warm in that Shetland mist. But maybe there’s more to her…

Kinraddie · 03/11/2021 23:23

Could the missing daughter who Galbraith was asked to search for, be the non-nun nun?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 03/11/2021 23:23

I thought it was one of the vigilantes who shot the boy - his dad was facing away from him, wasn’t he?

I love the idea of an honesty cake fridge, but it’s just as well there isn’t one within waddling distance of my house!

OllyBJolly · 03/11/2021 23:27

@Rhannion

At the side of a lonely road? Where do they plug it in?
They’ve shifted it across the road! There’s a few around Shetland. Think this was supposed to be the Burrafirth one and it’s usually plugged in on a few metres down the other side of the road. Lush cakes!
Rhannion · 03/11/2021 23:44

@absolutelynotfabulous

Liking this.

Duncan living with Jimmy?

Duncan has son with Donna? Didn't know that.

Nurse as love interest for Jimmy?

Quite fancy cake fridge.

Series 4 is the one where that all comes out about Donna and Duncan.
Maireas · 04/11/2021 07:38

@ChoccyJules

Was the son shot by his father? All a bit confusing that scene.
It was - I think the son was shot by the father when he got distressed by the intruders.
Maireas · 04/11/2021 07:39

@Maireas

Is she in league with the Dr, who's wife was having an affair with Galbraith?. Why was Galbraith paying the care home fees for the man whose daughter left Shetland?
whose sorry
SoupDragon · 04/11/2021 08:01

Loved the cake fridge!

I thought the PTSD dad shot his son during the vigilante attack. He did turn round to look in that direction and was shooting at people all over. I think it was meant to be confusing and he doesn't know that he shot him. Did the vigilantes actually have guns?

absolutelynotfabulous · 04/11/2021 08:21

I don't think the vigilantes had guns. It looked to me like the dad had a PTSD episode and shot his son in error and confusion. Sad.

Clawdy · 04/11/2021 08:22

So many names, it's incredibly confusing. DH and I sit there going "Fiona? Lizzie? Fraser?" Subtitles have helped a bit!

EdgeOfTheSky · 04/11/2021 09:02

And so many women with long straight dark hair. I get them all mixed up.

How on earth did Galbraith get any work done, with his Tuesday afternoons in a hotel and his days at a Nunnery?

The missing teenager is bound to be integral because Perez told the police woman to not prioritise following her up.

During Perez’s long perusal of the burning shed, were they the vintage-pistol bullets that the camera focussed on? And has PTSD dad shot himself?

So many plot lines. Dive Guy, Screaming Nun, Drug Guy, Refugee-PTSD Dad connection…

Love the random cake fridge.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 04/11/2021 09:28

I may be mistaken, but it looked to me as if the PTSD dad had a workshop for making bullets (the locked room that Jimmy broke into) which suggests involvement in something dodgy?

SoupDragon · 04/11/2021 09:39

I thought it looked like a bullet workshop too, just like they said the murder weapon would have needed.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 04/11/2021 10:10

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that @SoupDragon.

I'm puzzling to think what else I've watched recently (presumably a thriller?) where some ex-Army guy was not directly involved in the crimes being investigated but had been making untraceable bullets.

SoupDragon · 04/11/2021 10:21

I think they had bullets like that in the Line of Duty series before last.

Leftbutcameback · 04/11/2021 10:44

But who were the vigilantes? It seems like it was to do with more than the murder. I think the dad is mixed up in something. Also there's clearly more to the "war crimes" than Perez thinks

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 04/11/2021 10:50

It seems strange though that PTSD dad was so friendly (and it all looked genuine) to the refugee family if he's committed war crimes?

Disfordarkchocolate · 04/11/2021 11:07

If the scene between Tosh and her boyfriend isn't the highlight of the series I'd be surprised. It was wonderful.

Also, cake fridge!

Leftbutcameback · 04/11/2021 11:35

Love Tosh so much!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 04/11/2021 12:20

I agree completely, @Disfordarkchocolate - I loved that scene.

Optimist1 · 04/11/2021 12:32

@Mushypeasandchipstogo

I thought that the nun in the habit looked male too!
Me too, but I didn't find it particularly odd because my old headmistress looked just like Ted Heath in a nun's habit! Smile
