Anyone watching? I love this series and fancy Perez Grin He seems to have some extra timber on him.. I don’t like him in a suit, much prefer a fishermans knitted jumper on him..

Where were we left when the last series ended? Did he get together with someone? Someone who seemed to have shady motives? I can’t remember!

That letter to Donna’s lawyer is going to come back and bite Duncan

Theeyeballsinthesky · 17/11/2021 22:02

Donna has definitely framed Duncan in some way hasn’t she?

Perez is due some massive emotional breakdown in the final episode - I mean does he ever have a good day????

ScrambledSmegs · 17/11/2021 22:06

It must have been tiring for the actor playing Donna to have such a relentlessly miserable and nasty character to play. There was nothing nice about her.

She's definitely framed Duncan.

Leftbutcameback · 17/11/2021 22:07

It was so frustrating the way she blamed Duncan for everything, after all she was the murderer. She definitely wrote something in that letter - when she said that people wouldn't understand.

Pleased to see Tosh get the right thread to solve the crime! She's awesome.

Also is the mobile signal really that good all over Shetland? I can't get a signal in half of Oxfordshire!

Selkiesarereal · 17/11/2021 22:15

Totally agree, the letter has framed Duncan! No idea about who the murderer is though.

Clawdy · 17/11/2021 22:23

I was hoping Donna would drink up the mug, then smilingly tell Duncan that the letter would land him in it. Then Duncan would tell her there was nothing in the drink anyway.......

That's exactly what I hoped

Yeah, perez on his mobile, on the beach, perfect signal. I live by the coast. Noone gets signal on a beach.

Me and DH did too Sad

I must be unscrupulous because I'd have opened that letter in his situation Blush

PickupaPenguin8 · 17/11/2021 22:39

I was thinking the same thing

Leftbutcameback · 17/11/2021 22:59

Mond you we don't know that he didn't open the letter? We just saw it being posted. He could have read it.

Yes, me too!

The letter is going to frame him but Perez telling him to put Donna's mug in the sink might help him.

SudokuMania · 17/11/2021 23:05

I think it's the end for Sandy. Billy is getting more air time and the new young cop too.

wizzler · 17/11/2021 23:06

I thought it was a nice mug. I've been looking out for some that shape

SirSamuelVimes · 18/11/2021 07:33

So, do we think Alex Galbraith was responsible/ partly responsible for the girl's death back in the day, or just that he helped cover it up for his mates?

I wonder if his own daughter now being the rough age of Marianne if it spurred him into feeling more guilt and he was going to come clean to her dad / the police.

Am also wondering if the drone was a red herring, maybe Guadi didn't have anything on there at all, maybe he knew something else related to the Marianne death?

I like Billy. His little grin when Perez told him to set fire to the ferry if he had to!

I think he was involved but I suspect it was "just" drugs related rather than actively killing her IYSWIM.

notacooldad · 18/11/2021 08:19

I didnt catch the name of tbe two others at tbe party with Galbraith.
Who were they please?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 18/11/2021 08:25

Niven (the one with the brother whose car/van was used) who is super chummy with Galbraith's widow, and I believe the other one is the husband of the woman Galbraith had been having the affair with (is he the doctor whose alibi they spent a lot of time proving at the hospital).

notacooldad · 18/11/2021 08:30

Thanks for that.
Things are begining to make (a bit more) sense!

LiveintheNow · 18/11/2021 08:32

The others were Niven Guthrie and someone Bedford but didn't catch first name, presumably Darren though?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 18/11/2021 08:33

Yes, @notacooldad. I was quite pleased that I knew who the two were by the end of yesterday's episode! It is all starting to become clear (ish)!

ChoccyJules · 18/11/2021 09:30

At least with Perez talking…like…this…. all…. the….time we should be able to understand how it all fits together when he explains it for us!

So the three men were at the party, somehow involved in the death. Bedford has an alibi for the Galbraith murder. Either he or Niven were presumably up at the ruins and in touch with the non-nun by text. Has Bedford got his phone back from Perez I wonder or must that have been Niven?

TheShriekingShack · 18/11/2021 10:15

Why was Donna angry with Jimmy? I can’t remember the details. I think they should have a recap at the beginning of the series when there’s characters coming back.

Because she felt he should have spoken up at her trial in her defence, told the court about her abusive husband. Basically she doesn't think that it was her fault that she killed the people she did, she thinks it was justified, and is angry at Perez for putting her away (and the subsequent loss of relationship with her son).
