Anyone watching? I love this series and fancy Perez He seems to have some extra timber on him.. I don’t like him in a suit, much prefer a fishermans knitted jumper on him..

Where were we left when the last series ended? Did he get together with someone? Someone who seemed to have shady motives? I can’t remember!

I don't think screaming nun is a red herring - I think she's linked to the girl that went missing (and has a father in a care home).

I also think that the cook from the boat (Caroline?) is involved as she could have left the silence is golden note and she tried to set up Andy (?) as the diver's killer.

I always really enjoy the mid section of crime dramas where it gets confusing and there are lots of possibilities!

Duncan is just struggling with guilt. He's made so many poor choices over the years I think he's trying to atone. I think Donna wil try to bump him off!

I wondered this too - to get revenge on Jimmy for putting her away / not speaking on her behalf at her trial. Especially if Duncan starts to back away from her at all.

Yes Donna definitely wants revenge on Jimmy.

I think they included her swearing at Kate Kilmuir to show that she's not repentant and is still dangerous.

Duncan has a track record of running away when things get tough.

He did look quite perturbed when she.said things were going to get more difficult and made him promise to help!

Really hope Sandy gets sacked.

Oh I hadn't thought of assisted suicide - yes that would put Duncan (and Jimmy) in a lot of conflict.

I'm watching s4 now (the rock festival one). So far no relationship between Donna and Duncan though. Maybe that's S5 (or maybe it's revealed in that series).

Still no idea who killed Galbraith, or wh but it isn't. y. I feel it should be coming together in my head now. It isn't.

Duncan and Donna's son is probably about 20? I can't remember which series it was in but it wasn't revealed until near the end that they'd had a affair when they were younger.

Sandy was friends with the woman Donna murdered, and is still friends with the victim's sister - he told her details of the investigation in the second episode (I think) which is why Jimmy was pissed off with him.

I definitely think Donna was alluding to assisted suicide with Duncan.

It's a very tangled web that's woven in this season's plot. I think I may need to watch it again, this time with 100% focus!

When Perez visited the convent, a nun opened the front door to let him in. This is who some people are saying is transsexual, as they looked quite manly. This nun then fetched the ginger haired woman (who isn't a proper nun) who was the one that buried the necklace at the end of last nights episode.

Wish he'd heard her saying to the sister of the woman she'd killed how she wasn't sorry and that she'd deserved it. That might have put him off a bit. Doesn't he run a restaurant or bar or something? He's not going to have many customers if her picks her over the rest of the island.

Ah I wasn't sure... I would have thought hearing her would have put him off a bit more?

As for the nun who answered the door, I just watched that part again and she looks like a woman to me not a transsexual person. She just looks like a typical weathered faced nun, as one might expect living on a remote island with extreme conditions.

Ah, yes I remember a ' proper' nun answering the door but didnt think anything about it. Nothing to suggest she was transsexual. How odd!

I wouldn't be surprised if Donna attacks Duncan or the nurse. I don't think she should be allowed near sharp implements in the kitchen...

Does anyone else think the writing is a bit.. off this season? Lots of things set up then hastily brushed under the carpet, eg, Sandy's left for dead! Oh wait, he's fine. Suspect being bolshy and resistant in interview! Oh wait, a stern word from Jimmy and he's singing like a canary. I could do with 25% less Jimmy's dad, 10% fewer characters and everything a bit slower and easier to follow less frenetic.

and in comestible fridge news: we have an egg fridge outside the local free range farm which is more like an automated 50s slot thing. 90p for 6 eggs - bargain! It also sells potatoes and mistletoe in season. Will leave a note suggesting cake.

It's not as though finding a woman to play a nun who'd fade in to the background is difficult. They deliberately picked that person to play a nun. The series is confusing enough without deliberately introducing red herrings. Is this one the author didn't write? It seems too fragmented and confusing to be a proper Shetland

Then he laid for the father's care home, but told him the daughter was paying. That says guilt to me. The not-nun is the right age. Is she the Sister Carolyn who the Ssshhhh postcard was for?
