Why are lots of you mentioning a dead fox/dog in earlier episodes? It was the rabbit that was dead 🤔

There was a dead fox outside the house in ep1

Medievalist · 02/11/2021 10:26

The dead fox was in the opening titles. I think it was just a device to suggest unpleasantness in an affluent area. I think some people are reading too much significance into it.

Italiangreyhound · 02/11/2021 14:22

Yes, I think the fox was to show something rotten in the state of Denmark!

endofagain · 02/11/2021 14:23

I have looked after 2 women with puerperal psychosis. It is very, very scary stuff. One woman actually believed she was God/the second coming and was responsible for saving the world. The other was exhibiting full blown symptoms of schizophrenia. In both cases it all came on over about 3 days post partum.
I can well believe that sleep deprivation, a gas lighting partner and a constantly crying baby would tip a vulnerable woman over the edge.
I find Olivier really creepy and sinister.

endofagain · 02/11/2021 14:30

WRT the lack of personality, I think women in coercive/abusive relationships eventually learn to be as passive and unopinionated as possible.
Marylin French said something along the lines of: "If everything jangles whenever you move, you learn to keep very still".

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/11/2021 14:50

Def something bigger then rabbit in e1

Italiangreyhound · 02/11/2021 17:24

endofagain I can certainly imagine a crying baby like that would totally frazzle the nerves. The house being so clean and tidy felt weird too! Mine was a ness of hanging laundry.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/11/2021 19:25

Yet she has another baby whe. He was a few months /year as they are close in age

Pawprintpaper · 02/11/2021 22:36

@TheVolturi

Apart from being a bit dishy though her dh has absolutely nothing going for him does he!
I preferred him as a rugged but earnest, guernsey farmer in the potato peel pie society film. But I never could resist a man in chunky knitwear.
Honeyroar · 03/11/2021 08:04

Oh! That’s where I’ve seen him. 😄. He reminds me of David Tennant.

I felt bad for her mum.😦

Guacamole001 · 07/11/2021 11:25

I think the dead fox was just a red herring.

SpanishFly · 07/11/2021 13:34

is tonight the last episode?

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/11/2021 15:17

No 5 tonight

Think last one is next week so 6 in all

Guacamole001 · 07/11/2021 15:17

No. Last but one.

dozyjosie42 · 07/11/2021 21:35

Tonight's episode has been really slow and tedious. No idea what's happening. All pointing to a set up between husband and Ed/Theo but surely that's too obvious

Honeyroar · 07/11/2021 21:37

Yes it has compared with last weekX

GreenLunchBox · 07/11/2021 21:42

Omg, what is she doing? This is so tense!😬

the80sweregreat · 07/11/2021 21:46

The police would really do this for someone ?

takethattime · 07/11/2021 21:47

45 minutes and nothing has really happened to move the story along.

GreenLunchBox · 07/11/2021 21:47

Any guesses what the statements were?

Rummikub · 07/11/2021 21:48

Watching tonight.
Is ths normal- using a spoon to get butter and then scrape off with a knife and spread it?

the80sweregreat · 07/11/2021 21:48

The statement is to prove he paid off Ed / Theo maybe. ?
