Really can't decide whether to persevere with this or not! Think I'll wait for you lot to watch the next episode and take it from there Grin

Jux · 26/10/2021 12:07

Missed it. Wondering whether I should watch catch up or make good my escape. Advice pls!

ChequerBoard · 26/10/2021 12:24

"Surely they can't do this in the current climate?? I bloody hope not"

I hope not too, but given that the BBC think it's OK for them to make a drama out of the Jimmy Saville scandal I fear that anything could happen.

LittleMysSister · 26/10/2021 15:24

@maternitycoat

Why has she ever believed and trusted Ed? He is a stranger after all
Totally agree and have said the same to DP all along.

She doesn't even have any proof that he knows Olivier at all. She has never seen them together or heard them speak on the phone.

Some random bloke she met in a bar has just followed her home and started spouting off about her husband wanting to steal her kids and murder her and she's believed him instantly?!

girlmom21 · 26/10/2021 15:31

@AngelicaSchuylerAndHerSisters

I was distracted during it because it is so slow so I might have missed this…Why were the police there at the end? Who called them? And was it Ed on the phone telling her to get out?
Ed told her that Olivier was sending someone to come and kill her, so she locked the boys away to keep them safe and went and got the gun Olivier had shown her.

Ed is still working for Olivier. Olivier is trying to make her look insane. Everything Ed told her was true but he's done it to get her on side and is helping her play right into Olivier's hands.

Olivier will have called the police to say she's unstable, presumably.

He's wiped the CCTV to make it look like Ed never existed. She now looks like a crazy woman who locked her children up and raced around with a shotgun.

It's all part of the master plan. It's exactly what Ed said would happen.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/10/2021 21:24

And the fact hubby turned up after he said he was going away (France?) for a night for work

He obv didn’t so lied

So he’s def dodgy

eddiemairswife · 26/10/2021 21:56

So many 'written for TV' dramas have no substance. I can remember the long ago days when the BBC put classic plays on a Sunday evening, or even the Wednesday Play written by well-established playwrights.

worriedatthemoment · 27/10/2021 16:47

Set up by the husband as he was supposed to be away and had no reason to come back or with the poilce
Ed is helping him although I reckon will switch sides eventually - thats my guess anyway

LadyEloise1 · 28/10/2021 09:18

@LittleMysSister
I agree re her trusting this random guy Ed.
Very very strange.
I'll persevere but am not enjoying it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/10/2021 17:15

Maybe we will come through at the end

ScienceSensibility · 29/10/2021 18:20

Awful, awful, show.

ITV dramas are so relentlessly crap at the moment.

icelollycraving · 29/10/2021 20:48

It’s really shit but sunken cost fallacy for me. I did notice she was not only acting in it but also producing it (or directing, something like that).
I quite like her in other things. Maybe she needs better direction. Maybe it’s just a really shit script.
ITV dramas have been dire lately and yet I still watch so I only have myself to blame.

Timeflyin · 31/10/2021 16:47

Just watched the third episode am actually hooked. It makes me feel quite tense though and also quite rubbish about my standard of night wear… I mean, do people really mince about in see through nighties and dressing gowns like this every night ? Is this just me wondering this ?

No, it's not just you Grin Is it to show how she likes to look 'nice' for Olivier; or for herself?

She seems to spend about five minutes a day with her children. And five hours roaming and running about in luxury silk nightwear.

edisonbulb · 31/10/2021 21:17

Quite slow tonight.

Honeyroar · 31/10/2021 21:23

Do you think so.
She’s a cold fish, isn’t she,

Who’s watching? I’m still not sure Ed isn’t real!

99victoria · 31/10/2021 21:29

This baby cries A LOT!

sceweredbbq · 31/10/2021 21:33

I’m wondering if something happened in a swimming pool with the baby. The pool is in the leisure centre called edgewater.

zaffa · 31/10/2021 21:33

I am wondering if it is all a ploy to make her think she is crazy and Ed is in on it.
stressingsusan · 31/10/2021 21:45

I think she definitely does something to put the baby at risk in the pool.

theresnoonequitelikegrandma · 31/10/2021 21:45

This is compelling now.....like a car crash! Don't want to watch (especially when you know a baby will be 'in danger') but can't stop watching! 😳

edisonbulb · 31/10/2021 21:54

They love using that block of flats.

Bad scenes hard to watch.

stressingsusan · 31/10/2021 22:01

So he is real then?!
