Last thread here.

Well, we care, because we're picky like that!

The Strictly chatter continues...

Tom will get far regardless because he and his wife are social media savvy and have loyal support.
Either a John or Rose win would be amazing - am hoping for latter, cos I love Gio

Elderflower14 · 14/10/2021 19:35

Rose's Twitter is so beautiful lots of deaf children sending her pictures and signing videos... Makes me tearful in a good way... ♥ ♥ ♥

JacquelineCarlyle · 14/10/2021 19:39

I remember when Alesha Dixon won and Len told her if she'd started dancing ad a child, she'd be a world champion and I see AJ the same way, so think she has every chance of winning.

I'd love AJ or Rose to win. I do like John but not a fan of Johannes and John has had obvious dance training, so less keen on him because of that. Id also like to see them doing more finessed and in-hold dances rather than what they've been given so far. They do look brill and I loved their pirates but they need to be able to do it all.

EsmaCannonball · 14/10/2021 20:25

Another thing about the Ugo situation is that Oti has said this is her final season. She's my favourite pro and I was enjoying their partnership, so I'll be very sorry if this is potentially the last we see of Oti. I'd like her to go out having got Ugo as far as he could possibly go.

JacquelineCarlyle · 14/10/2021 20:28

When did she say it was her final season @EsmaCannonball?

Standrewsschool · 14/10/2021 20:33

Oti implied in articles in April, that this could be her last series, but a later article retracted this, and she has no plans to leave just yet.

JacquelineCarlyle · 14/10/2021 20:49

I hope she doesn't go - I love Oti!

xsquared · 14/10/2021 21:14

Oti won't be short of work if she leaves Strictly, but she will be a great loss.

DaisyNGO · 14/10/2021 21:47

Oti is a multi skilled woman, I think.

Does anyone know if Robert will be interviewed, maybe on It Takes Two?

I just can't get him out of my head

Bobholll · 14/10/2021 22:00

I agree John is like AJ in being good from the start but the Strictly audience majorly favour males. I think AJ is a bit marmite.

John has the same dance experience as Kelvin. Danced as a teenager, hasn’t danced since he around 16. This argument used to drive me insane with Kelvin. I also danced from age 5-16 & let’s just say I’d be this years Judy Murray 😂 Kelvin was really popular & I recon John will have the same kinda fan base. The same sex coupling will win them a lot of support. Johannes is popular as well.

I still recon Rose & Gio might clinch it if she continues to improve..

Rhys needs to calm down. There is enthusiastic & then there is Rhys & Nancy. They are so annoying 😩😂

Bimblybomeyelash · 14/10/2021 22:24

@DaisyNGO I wonder what Shirley would have to say about THAT outfit!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 14/10/2021 22:28

John seems really nice, but I think I'd probably prefer Rose or AJ to win — I've actively looked forward to seeing them each week, and I haven't for John. I think he's a very good dancer, but I think maybe because I expected he'd be good I want as surprised as pleased by him?

I'd love Sara to do well personally. I like a Strictly superfan!

Still, dance experience of any kind is helpful, no matter how long ago. I remember Alesha Dixon admitting to having had a few ballet lessons as a child, and Arlene saying that even the most basic grounding counts. That said, there’s no substitute for raw talent, so if you’ve got that, plus a bit of background in dance, you’ve got an advantage.

SequinsandStiIettos · 15/10/2021 06:21

AJ John Rose would also be my dream final. For the first time, I genuinely would be happy for any of them winning it, slebs and pros. Have a soft spot for AJ though - she has totally surprised me and won me over.

EvilRingahBitch · 15/10/2021 07:55

I think that it's surely rare for really talentless children to carry on doing serious dance lessons past the age of 13? Especially if they're boys.

lollipoprainbow · 15/10/2021 08:01

@Bobholll Rhys and Nancy leave me cold, I can't stand the ridiculous jumping up and down like over exciteable puppies aarrgghh !!

EsmaCannonball · 15/10/2021 08:02

Alesha Dixon is one if my favourite ever contestants, but, IIRC, she had so much dance experience she had been considering a career as a dance teacher before she became famous. Absolute ringer.

Claymorekick · 15/10/2021 08:08

I agree about Alesha - total ringer but still one of my faves (but my all time fave of Danny Mac was a total ringer Grin). But, i think Alesha's transformation over the series from a broken and publically betrayed woman to someone full of joy from dance was heartwarming and I think went a long way to her victory!

EvilRingahBitch · 15/10/2021 08:09

I don't know whether Alesha (who I loved) would have got away with pretending to be a beginner nowadays. Jay got away with it though. I think it's partly a question of film evidence.

I think that AJ and Kai's partnership has some of the vibe of Alesha and Matthew's even though he's not gay (I think?) and it may stand them in good stead with the GBP as the weeks wear on.

MareofBeasttown · 15/10/2021 08:25

I personally like ringers and don't care about previous dance experience. I just love the best dancer. Hence my faves are Alesha, Danny Mac, Alexandra Burke, Ashley Roberts.... It goes against the spirit of Strictly but I am not bothered...Wink

Clawdy · 15/10/2021 08:38

It's much more fun to see a non-dancer improve and start to do some great dancing though. Seeing top scores for stars who have loads of experience is never quite the same. Not for me anyway!

GrouchyKiwi · 15/10/2021 09:53

I am still upset we didn't get to see Danny repeat his chachacha. Even if he was a ringer, he improved so much over the series that it would have been even more amazing. I rewatch that often (as well as most of the rest of his dances).

ppeatfruit · 15/10/2021 09:56

I agree Clawdy Ref. Janette, she's good on Morning Live too, I don't know if they've used professionals who've actually done Strictly to present ITT before, I think that's the reason she's so good. Has Rylan got dance experience? I know that Zoe has been a contestant.

Oh dear I didn't know Ugo has been injured.

I agree with this - Strictly seemed to literally change her life and put her back together again, stronger than she ever was before!
GreenClock · 15/10/2021 11:14

In terms of life changing, I saw that with Louise Redknapp too.
