See, three visits to Zara too.

EerilyDisembodied · 07/10/2021 14:03

No Jimmi, tell her to LTB

EerilyDisembodied · 07/10/2021 14:09

Did you see that episode of Changing Rooms a few weeks ago where they painted someone's living room in the same colour scheme as Bear's Mum's cafe? Plus a green and white striped ceiling. It was a shocker.

Raahh · 07/10/2021 14:11

The new series of Changing Rooms has had some terrible makeovers.
Bear and his mum working together might be as bad as Jimmi and Al at the Icon.

Rob is blaming Gobby? Nice.

EerilyDisembodied · 07/10/2021 14:11

Empty suitcase

EerilyDisembodied · 07/10/2021 14:12

There seems to be a razor shortage in Letherbridge at the moment

EerilyDisembodied · 07/10/2021 14:12

New love interest for Emma?

smallandimperfectlyformed · 07/10/2021 20:26

I found myself hoping that Rob was going to have a brain aneurysm at the wheel as he was going to drive away. Poor Karen. I know I keep saying it but it really bugs me that she is expected to put up with such awful treatment because of his PTSD, I hope people watching know that even if their partners do have psychological/psychiatric problems they do not have to tolerate abuse and never have any fun in their lives.

EerilyDisembodied · 08/10/2021 07:10

I was really quite cross with Jimmi basically telling Karen to suck it up.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 08/10/2021 07:17

Jimmi's starting to really annoy me. He is just so superior. I am looking forward to Bear and his mum working on her business together, I can see possibilities of fun storylines there!

TDogsInHats · 08/10/2021 07:22

Raahh thanks for the yes to the dress update 😂 and surrogacy birth of the transitioned couple.
I like watching the wedding dress shows, a bit like Homes under the Hammer in that once you catch a glimpse you have to watch til the end.

Raahh · 08/10/2021 11:55
Grin

'Say Yes to the Dress' is quite addictive. I watched a few of the Lancashire /Gok Wan one- not quite do glamourous, that one, and I swear they only have half a dozen actual styles in stock, as nearly every one I've seen has ended up trying on the same ones Grin.

I hope we get some answers /resolution in the Gobby/Plod storyline soon- it's quite depressing, seeing Rob turn on Karen and she's just getting more and more miserable (and I don't like how miserable her character has ended up- she used to be more of the 'light relief' pre- her head injury).

In way, it is good that they are re-visiting the previous stoylines, and showing that PTSD is not something that just 'goes away' without significant help-if ever- (as the conversation with Sid showed- Sid thought Rob was over it, and never gave the accident that caused it any thought).
It's just frustrating- because Rob never seems to want help. Or respond to it positively in any way.

Does anyone watch it and think that the houses don't suit the characters?! Beautiful homes, but often too modern for the character

Agreed, young couples in their twenties in a huge Victorian pile, or very elderly and frail people, generally with Alzheimer’s with bang on trend swanky decor!

I don’t think Emma’s house suits her character either, last decorated circa 1995, she would surely have a more up to date house. I love Zara’s house her kitchen is gorgeous, really suits her character.

AmberLynn1536 · 08/10/2021 14:35

I like Rob and Karen’s house but absolutely hate the curtains in their kitchen, get rid please, I find them really distracting!

Raahh · 08/10/2021 14:47

Ruhma's house confuses me- because she made a big song and dance about down sizing banking Heston's money after Heston died, and moved in with Emma for a bit- but seems to live in a house that is even bigger than the one they did before! Although at times, it is hard to tell whether it is actually big houses converted into flats, because she seemed to have a lot of neightbours -who all shared a garden.

Social distancing has a lot to answer for- lots of massive roomed houses, that in real life, the character involved would probably never be able to afford to live in. Grin

smallandimperfectlyformed · 08/10/2021 16:53

Now restrictions have been eased for quite a long time in England I hope that we see the end of social distancing in the show. I don't necessarily want full on snogs but the other day in another programme a husband and wife had 2 pecks on the lips and it was so much more believable that they were in a relationship. My mum made me laugh, she told me she didn't think the trans storyline from Tuesday was so bad (she was watching yesterday on catch up). I asked her about when the girlfriend spoke to the man's mum and she said oh I think I missed that bit, I fast forwarded some of it! Pretty clear indication you haven't enjoyed a show if you are skipping parts of it!!Grin

MadisonAvenue · 08/10/2021 20:28

Yep, it’s very unrealistic and you’re probably looking at the large houses being worth from between £700,000 to £1,000,000, depending on where in the city they are. I’d guess that they’re not far from the drama village which is in a very nice area.

TDogsInHats · 08/10/2021 21:13

Yes the engineering students housing, not only was the kitchen massive bigger than my house but it was spotless.

TDogsInHats · 08/10/2021 21:16

Raahh best wishes to you and mini raahh, I know you've been through tough times.
Is DH still WFH?

Raahh · 08/10/2021 21:29

TDogs thank you Grin. She's doing ok. (Still plotting to have her reversal surgery to coincide with SATS so she misses it Grin).

Dh was made redundant at the start of September, which was not entirely unexpected, but still a shock when it happens. He finished last Thursday- but got a new job today! so I am very relieved. So is he. He's not getting any younger Grin so we were quite worried.

Unfortunately- it's still WFH Grin! (one day a week in the office).

MadisonAvenue · 09/10/2021 09:01

That’s good news Raahh (apart from the WFH bit).

My husband worked all through while the rest of the department he manages were on furlough, he WFH until Easter and was then back to the office but because he was the only one doing the job he wasn’t able to take any holiday until the others returned from furlough in July. He took a week and then it became crazy busy so he couldn’t take any more.

He texted me last week to say he’s got 22 days to take before the end of the year.
He’s taking next week off.
WFH isn’t too bad because for the most part he was in the home office with the door shut but when he has a week off he mooches around looking for things to do, which usually involve me helping.

Glad to hear your daughter is doing well!

TDogsInHats · 09/10/2021 10:04

Raahh, that must've been worrying but well done on DH finding a new job so quickly.
At least you've got one DH free day, I hope another family member doesn't manage to be at home on that day though. I value my solitude and quite get the hump if DH has a day off/rained off . He's self employed and works mostly outside.
You can bet your bottom dollar that he has the day off when I'm not working.
Oops sorry going on a bit thereGrin

TDogsInHats · 09/10/2021 10:05

I hope mini Raahh gets her wish and misses SATsWink

KilledByWitches · 11/10/2021 13:57
