Old thread filled, hope nobody minds!

Madison Grin

Yes, some of his creations were a sight to behold Grin.

EerilyDisembodied · 06/10/2021 23:10

If they have a surrogacy storyline next I'm out.

I really hate what they've done to Rob. And agree, why is it always a daughter trying to care single-handed for an elderly parent. I wish they'd bring back Al's mum.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 06/10/2021 23:19

Al's mum is a great character. I want a romance for one of the single characters, doesn't really matter which one although I would like it to be Bear the most I think. Jimmi's far too bloody perfect to be with anyone! Both Val and Emma have had recent relationships whereas Bear has just had hook ups and I don't think Sid's had anything in that way since the woman Bear was dating suggested a threesomeBlush!

EerilyDisembodied · 07/10/2021 06:55

I also wish things had worked out between Al and the woman he got engaged to by mistake, if they had taken things more slowly they would have made a great couple and there would have been a permanent third receptionist and no need to ever bring back Su-without-an-e.

Raahh · 07/10/2021 07:56

I never liked Su with an E Grin. She is up there near the top of my most disliked characters.

I wish they would let Al be happy for once- his relationship with the vicar seemed like it would go somewhere, then didn't - then the woman he he met LARPing should have been perfect, and they made him look awful in that storyline too.

I wonder what Niamh is up to now? Grin

Sid always seems like such a drip at times- it seems totally implausible now that Zara would ever sleep with him- drunk or not!

I prefer Doctors when I don't have to over think it Grin.

Although- I spend most of the time thinking 'where have I seen him/her before' with regards to the guest actors.

The fiancee in the transgenger storyline was Rachel Adedji- who started off on X Factor, and was recently in Hollyoaks. It took me ages to place her though. It came to me randomly in the middle of the night. Grin. They like ex- Hollyoaks actors on Doctors. Grin.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 07/10/2021 10:03

The Niamh storyline really infuriated me, I thought her leaving due to that medical scandal was rubbish because I couldn't understand how a doctor could get so emotionally involved. I was never massively fond of Su without an E but it was the silly story lines I enjoyed, like Mrs Tembe's constant team building events! Lily was a great character and I thought her and Al had great chemistry before she became a stalker. I'm sure he has had 2 relationships with women of the cloth! I think I am just going to pretend Tuesdays episode didn't exist because it annoyed me so much. I know Karen shouts at Luca today, hope she doesn't get into too much trouble considering how rude Luca was to Zara in preachy flag episode and we know she's got stuff going on. Bet she does though because she's a woman and she'll be told to leave her personal stuff at home

MadisonAvenue · 07/10/2021 12:37

I’m still playing catch up on the couple of years that I missed, I’m on Feb 2016 now. I really like Niamh but I’d forgotten just how much Mrs Tembe annoyed me.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 07/10/2021 12:47

Sacrilege! I adored Mrs Tembe, thought she was a great character. However you are entitled to your opinions so I will not hold it against you! That means you have lots of Heston and is Howard still there too? I loved both those characters as well

Raahh · 07/10/2021 13:00

I loved Mrs T. Grin I thought they ruined Niamh's character - because she started off ok, and her relationship with Al was actually good, right mix of humour and they were well suited- then they ruined it, and the whole attempting to run off to Switzerland with a bloke she barely knew was just daft.

I do miss Heston. He was never the same once they got Ruhma in the show.

I am just going to catch up on yesterday's, before today's.

Raahh · 07/10/2021 13:06

Covid has created a lot of probably unintentionally daft stories- because there have been far too many people living in massive, spacious houses- which they would never have afforded.

Just catching up- at least they have remembered that Sid is supposed to be running the minor surgery unit.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 07/10/2021 13:06

My youngest is off school sick with a suspected UTI so wish me luck for getting a urine sample off of a 4 year old - I did try and hold it underneath her but bless her she kept moving away as she didn't want to get wee on my hand! Does mean I can't watch live today which is a shame. Instead I am being forced into watching weird shit on YouTube, would much rather some CBeebies!!

Raahh · 07/10/2021 13:16

small oh, good luck with that! DD2 has been off the last couple of days because she had tests on her stoma/bowel on Monday, and has been a bit unwell since.

Sid has terrible dress sense- that awful jacket and a paisley shirt.

Raahh · 07/10/2021 13:20

Rob is so horrible to Gobby Sad

smallandimperfectlyformed · 07/10/2021 13:21

Yeah Sid's dress sense is a bit weird. Bear and Al are both quirky characters and dress in ways that suit their personalities, same for Val. Zara's dress sense perfectly matches her character and the rest just kind of dress in quite normal clothes. For someone who is so meek and insecure I would expect less pattern from Sid. I do quite like him, I think it's nice to see that men struggle with anxiety and imposter syndrome etc but I would like his character to have a reason to smile sometimes!

Raahh · 07/10/2021 13:22

Oh, so he does know that it's not his daughter.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 07/10/2021 13:23

Forgot to say get well soon to your daughter Raahh. If I remember rightly she has a stoma bag or something like that doesn't she? Sorry, this was a vague memory from when I used to browse these boards. I apologise if I have used the wrong term, no offence meant

Raahh · 07/10/2021 13:25

small thank you- yes, she has a stoma- it's a year this weekend since her surgery, which is so strange. It has gone very quickly. We are hoping to ge some information about getting it reversed in the next few months.

EerilyDisembodied · 07/10/2021 13:29

I can watch live today, first time in months. I wasn't a huge Mrs T fan either but she was such an integral part of the show and she had so much integrity, which the rest of them are lacking at times.

I think Sid tries to copy Bear clothes-wise, but just isn't confident enough to carry it off, needs a bit more swagger.

Raahh · 07/10/2021 13:47

Well today, Karen is matching her mug.

EerilyDisembodied · 07/10/2021 13:48

Oh, Lily all over again

Raahh · 07/10/2021 13:51

Oh dear- Karen is not in a good place.

EerilyDisembodied · 07/10/2021 13:57

Bear's in his pyjamas. Hope his mum isn't ill.

Raahh · 07/10/2021 13:58

Surely Bear's mum shouldn't be able to just pop in all the time when he's meant to be working?

EerilyDisembodied · 07/10/2021 13:59

Normal for Doctors Raahh

Raahh · 07/10/2021 14:00

Eerily it is Grin
