Who is your favourite characters in Succession. I thought this was one of the best shows I have seen in ages, can't wait for new season which will be out soon. Lots of great characters in it. Greg, Tom, Roman. Love to hear your take on it..

Margot, I think the poster you’re quoting meant the writer of the review, not a scriptwriter.

EdmontinaDancesWithOphelia · 11/11/2021 22:04

I’d say the scriptwriters definitely ‘get’ Gerri - in the way we would wish, and absolutely don’t try to give the impression that a middle aged woman engaged in a (hetero)sexual relationship must be the less desirable party.

maddy68 · 11/11/2021 22:14

Roman has really grown on me. I find him hilarious and vEry naughty 🤣

I did, thank you.

Apologies *@idiotfacelicker* Blush

Don't worry about it 😃

BoJoSecretGF · 13/11/2021 11:24

Has Tabitha appeared in this series yet it has she dumped Roman?

MintyCedric · 13/11/2021 12:30

@BoJoSecretGF

Not 100% sure but I think they parted ways a couple of episodes before the end of season 2.

idiotfacelicker · 13/11/2021 13:32

I don't think she was on the 🛥 in the last season 2 episode, which I would have thought she would if they were together still.

MarshaBradyo · 13/11/2021 13:35

Brilliant episode as per usual

Lots of little things I thought excellent but thought Shiv’s small losses at work were very well done

EdmontinaDancesWithOphelia · 15/11/2021 11:43

Have watched Ep 5. Star

Exhausted!

One of my favourite episodes so far. I'm going to watch again shortly.

EdmontinaDancesWithOphelia · 15/11/2021 13:13

I just hate the bereft feeling I’m left with after each episode. How to get through the days and days until the next show.

MarshaBradyo · 15/11/2021 13:16

It’s so good, each character and scene is so well done.

I’m really plumping for one side to come out on top I’m not sure I’ll get my wish though

I feel the same and keep hoping throughout each episode that it's not going too fast at the same time. Then the agonising wait until next week. It's so difficult to have any compassion for any of them, but loving to hate them too. I swear every week I'm feeling more bereft
IntermittentParps · 15/11/2021 14:33

Not read all as I'm only on Ep 4 (just watched) but wanted to say

I was also ridiculously preoccupied with the waste of all that seafood. Me too! It was such a tense episode but that was the most stressful bit of all. I just kept thinking 'get them to put it in a doggie bag!' Grin

Did it make anyone else think of Walkabout and/or the heath stuff in King Lear? And I'm sure there were echoes of many other narratives of endurance and forced travel that I'm not quite erudite enough to be able to remember or bring to mind...

EdmontinaDancesWithOphelia · 15/11/2021 14:40

What an astute observation! You’re completely right.

I was more consciously aware of Josh as the godlike being leading them out and abandoning them to exile in the wilderness - (with them journeying towards their true selves) but I’m not quite sure of the correct mythological background!

Hadn't really thought about the true selves thing but it's a startling thought. So Logan's true self would die rather than ask for help/back down/compromise, and Kendall's would let Logan die rather than get him help/back down/compromise… I'm not sure, thinking of that reading, if Josh now hates/admires/fears/trusts/distrusts the pair of them. Maybe a bit of all those things!
EdmontinaDancesWithOphelia · 15/11/2021 15:16

Josh doesn’t need to feel anything. He is above them, has seen through them (respectively impotent and desperate) and will leave them to their destiny …

Or, if you like, they’re usually clothed and disguised by structures of glass, steel, staff. Exposed to the elements they’re stripped down to their true selves?

IntermittentParps · 15/11/2021 15:45

Yes, it was a fascinating episode because it shone a light on a shareholder –someone in the rare position of having MORE power than the family. And on his territory too. And yes, trapped and exposed to the elements, a bit like Circe luring in Odysseus and his men. The exposed thing is what made me think of Lear and Walkabout too.
It was interesting that Josh was totally in command on his wild island (with personal chefs, granted Grin when, you're right, K and L were in an alien element. And the rest of the family and team, while being 'safe' in their offices, spent the episode pacing them and being attacked in them. It was very claustrophobic.

Just watched Ep5 - so good, best by far of this series. Totally justified the build up towards this moment for such a long time. Need to watch again with subtitles (always do first watch without!)

Eek. I am making an early dinner as can't wait to watch!
Justheretoaskaquestion91 · 15/11/2021 19:54

I’m surprised and sorry to say I think Greg has become quite unlikeable; this week pushed him over the edge.

Despite myself I always just want Kendall to do well and it’s so mortifying when he pulls stunts like the speech.

I also always want Shiv to fail and I know Tom tracking her cycle was creepy AF but she treats him like absolute shit and I want him to leave her.

Gerri and Roman! ❤️

MarshaBradyo · 15/11/2021 20:02

I still like Greg

I like / loathe Tom as he has some great lines but so mean to Greg and Shiv is horrible to him

Despite it all I want the Dad to succeed not Kendall

Justheretoaskaquestion91 · 15/11/2021 20:08

Yes I guess the problem is I also want Logan to succeed! 😬🤦🏻‍♀️
