Anyone watch Succession

Who is your favourite characters in Succession. I thought this was one of the best shows I have seen in ages, can't wait for new season which will be out soon. Lots of great characters in it. Greg, Tom, Roman. Love to hear your take on it..

Yes that was quite chilling. But I agree, I don't know why Logan feels he has that as leverage when he would go to prison for covering it up.

And yeah, having read a PP about the speakers in Kendall's office, linking it to Logan's fake concern for 'Pinkie', I agree that Logan set it up to harden Shiv against her brother.

Actually I prefer this enclosed format.

I’m acutely aware of the presence on the writing team of super-successful British playwrights - so it’s fascinating to see them really flexing their theatrical muscles. A million other shows can portray people dotting about all over the place - that’s already familiar. But putting four people in a room and making them talk until they’ve torn each other to pieces - that takes a particular skill, and it’s much less common on screen.

Just fabulous so far.

Haven't read much past this as I've only watched two eps, but I totally agree with this. It is quite stagey so far, but in the best way – claustrophobic and dramatic. I felt like the scenes in Kendall's daughter's bedroom were quite heavily improvised; anyone else?

I am loving Roman. He's saying smarter and smarter things every episode. I don't think he's sure whether to hitch his wagon to Gerri or be loyal to his dad.
He also of course still gets lines like Don't talk mean to me Gerri, I don't have time to jerk off.'

I adored the 'irrelevant donuts' too.

I don’t retract what I said - but if you haven’t seen Ep3 you have a treat coming! It’s just outstanding.

Watched Ep 3 and found it pretty stressful actually, even by Succession standards!
Kendall was trying SO HARD to stay convinced that what he did was right; and to show that he wanted to be satirised to bits. No wonder he fell apart at the end

I did love the 'Rape Me' thing at Shiv's big speech though. I mean 'love' as in 'watched it through my fingers', obviously...

And, with everything that’s happening, why wouldn’t the second Mrs Roy have flung herself onto the nearest private jet, to go and hold all her little ones’ hands? Harriet Walter being imperious in America would be glorious.

Oh the second Mrs Roy doesn't give a shit about her children so she wouldn't fly over!
Remember how she dodged the conversation with Kendall when he tried to open his heart to her.

I'd love to see her again though as she's ace.

I don’t think you are supposed to have doubts about who was responsible for the music - Kendall said to his assistant he had a very specific shopping list.

Where was the nod re sexual abuse Logan/Roman?

The Tom angle is fascinating. Just don’t know where that’s going but I have to think Tom is not actually serving himself up because he always acts in self interest and his marriage is on the rocks too so he wouldn’t do it for shiv

I adore the Roman/Gerri partnership. I am hoping it ends well and that’s why they aren’t showing them too much now, in order to preserve the storyline. It’s just genius. I really dislike shiv but even I felt sorry for her.

The thing is with Kendal’s stunt is it was humiliating in a way she can’t recover from. Her letter would be easy to bounce back against: simple statement from his side saying it’s sad his sister feels so threatened re the company legal action that she would resort to low blows and personal attacks. Makes her look shit/paints him in a sympathic light. I mean he is doing it for the wrong reasons but ultimately he’s in the right here re the sexual coverups

If Tom confesses to whatever, it may be he’s relying on his secret lawyer getting him a plea-bargain. Where he can legitimately unload every single bad thing the Roys have done to him and everyone else. They go down, he gets off. 😈

(Despite theoretical expertise elsewhere, I have no knowledge of US law beyond intermittent Ally Mcbeal quite some time ago …)

Love Roman, he's awful, but he's real, he doesn't pretend not to be. Feel sorry for Kendall and want him to win out even though he's bloody awful, not sure why. Must be great acting/writing.

So just watched Ep 3 and caught up with you all. Agree that Kendall was an arrogant fool to mess with Gregg like that. They all fail to see the trump card he holds. IMO opinion it is Gregg that will win the immunity deal, not Kendall.

Good point re Gregg!!! It’s easy to overlook given how funny/goofy he is but look where he started and look where he is now…
