The series that I can't stop watching even though the storylines are literally incredible. Anyone else clocked Olly for the new lab male totty? How can they possibly manage without Clarissa or someone else in her job?

Waking the Dead was my favourite.

I would love for Harry to jet back in and take over where Thomas left off. Leaving Nikki in a total quandary.

I knew I recognised Simone!! She used to play Archie in Casualty a few years ago.

I had to come and find the thread after watching this week's episodes on iPlayer. Can't believe they just glossed over Adam's death - the Lyell Centre must be the UK's most dangerous workplace at the rate their staff dies in work related crimes and accidents. 🤣

I was hoping Nikki would take over as the boss this season and we would see her professional life progress so it's disappointing it's turning into this will they, won't they with Jack instead and the work seems to come second to their personal lives this season.

I bet Tom Ward regrets leaving SW as he's had a very sporadic career since.

We just watched this weeks episodes last night. God above it's gone absolutely dire, the karaoke was just cringe. It's nothing like the old Silent Witness which always had a cracking storyline.

I'm terrible for falling asleep when watching TV, and the SW plots are too complicated for me to follow after a 5 minutes nap
My all time favourite episodes for spookiness and plot twist was Fallen Angels, where the girl was bumping off everyone involved in taking her baby into care. The final scene was a shocker!

Which series is your favourite episode in BTW? I'm working my way through all seasons past but am only up to the 'university siege/shooter' one.

I loved that one too @cherrytree63 I also thought the cinematography of In A Lonely Place was breathtaking

Just googled and it's S18.
We're currently rewatching from when Jack joined and on S17.
So many actors being used in different roles, the boxing club female manager in the recent episodes is a DI in S17.

Lorraine Ashbourne. Fantastic actress and Mrs Andy Serkis.
Seasons 17 and 18 were (mostly) very good - although S.17's opener with a Jewish footballer falsely accused of murder (and called Dreyfus, ffs) was utter shit.

Yes, all these long-running series have a roll-call of known British actors, don't they? I enjoyed seeing Phyllis Logan in the university shooter story! They clearly don't keep a spreadsheet!!!

Is anyone else finding it hard to get into this series??

Normally I can't wait for Monday nights but I just can't get into it and I'm behind, I've just started the boxing ring episode.

Part of the problem I think (although this has always been a problem) is that subtitles don't work for me on live TV (I'm deaf) so I have to wait until after 10pm when subtitles come on iPlayer which means it's getting late. But have always needed subtitles so this is nothing new. But I think not being able to watch it live isnt as good

I recalled the original episodes (vaguely) but wouldn't have recognised the killer from this season's related storyline.

Can anyone explain why the room where they go to see dead bodies looks like a prison cell with concrete walls?

@Weedsorwishes after 5 mins can you not just start watching it on iplayer then?

I've tried that and subtitles don't work they only work (on our TV anyway) when the program has finished. I should probably try on the iPad actually!

Jack doesn't seem real this series. Don't know why but he looks a bit plastic!!!!
