The series that I can't stop watching even though the storylines are literally incredible. Anyone else clocked Olly for the new lab male totty? How can they possibly manage without Clarissa or someone else in her job?

She had more chemistry with the lesbian forensic-what's it-person than with him

It is just not believable at all that they suddenly fall for one another. When she held his hand earlier it was such a matey gesture. There is nothing to suggest any sexual desire there on either part.

That karaoke was the most cringe worthy thing I've seen since David Brent.

I wish he'd get back into the the bare knuckle boxing himself like when he first joined. He looked really fit and sexy then. Not so much now sadly although I will always be a sucker for any kind of Irish accent.

Yes, Jack looks a bit as if he's trying to stay young but not entirely succeeding.

Ryan went to prison years ago for GBH for breaking a mans jaw. It transpired however that it was actually Jack that threw the punch but Ryan took the blame to allow Jacks career to continue (I think!)

Glad I wasn't the only one left wondering this. The series just gets sillier and sillier but last night's episode was the worst! Between the cringy attempt by Jack to tell Cara he might be her dad using what looks like made up sign language and then that karaoke scene!! I really hope they don't get together - it makes no sense.

He wasn't the Dad and seemed very disappointed. Made him realise he wants a family I think.

Pretty sure they will get together as Nikki does want kids and Matt is clearly not working out for her. It's a pity I quite liked him.

A year or two ago I had thought that she would head into the sunset with him and leave Thomas,Clarissa and Jack to run the show.

I did love Harry though, they had great chemistry at some points but then also seemed very siblingy at others. I kind of wish he'd come back for an episode or two but I get the impression he didn't stay in touch with her.

I went back and watched the series where Jack joins, last week (because I was bored). They've definitely been hinting at Nikki/Jack since all the way back when!

Not sure how old Nikki is but Emelia Fox is 47 so having a family not really on the cards. Mind you, it is SW we're talking about.

Well hasn't Nikki been in it for at least 15 years? So I'd think her 'on screen' age may be similar to her real one! Maybe a few years younger but not more than five max, I wouldn't have thought.

She was born in 1974 & startted in it in 2004

I’ve got the awful cold that’s going around and I’m watching the back catalogue from 1997. I have no idea what Sam Ryan sees in Peter Ross. Her sister Wyn says he’s gorgeous but he’s really not. And he’s a petulant, chauvinistic arsehole to Sam both at work and at home.

Agree but it seemed more love interest for her on a series-by-series basis than for others since. And I watched all the Sam Ryan series very recently and thought it as I was watching!

For example, isn't this the third series that Nikki has been going out with the US diplomat?

I recently watched some of the older episodes and iPlayer and they were so much better. It’s got very self-indulgent lately I think - and I can do without Nikki and Jack making cow eyes at each other, especially when I’m not seeing any chemistry there at all. I do think there’s far too much emphasis on the main characters’ personal lives, in this week’s episodes it seemed the crime took a bit of a back seat.
And the less said about the karaoke the better. Very high levels of cringe.
