The series that I can't stop watching even though the storylines are literally incredible. Anyone else clocked Olly for the new lab male totty? How can they possibly manage without Clarissa or someone else in her job?

Nikki is late 40’s. Not that it’s relevant to her role, as she shouldn’t be shagging her students regardless.
So if the creepy postgrad gets a mark on his dissertation he wasn’t expecting, he can potentially claim he was penalised for his relationship with her.

So that's Endeavour, Midsummer Murders and Silent Witness that all, within the space of a week, have had a group of people stuck in a creepy mansion while a murderer runs amock.

It was rubbish. That post-grad isn't even goodlooking. I was aghast when Simone called him handsome!

Ollie has clearly sized Jack up as a potential love rival, so I reckon Jack is going to find out when he calls Nikki and Ollie the Phone Thief, deliberately answers it.

I'm afraid I think it's an abject waste of time talking about the cardigan, while the long-sleeved-shirt-with-buil-in-leatherette-waistcoat exists. Because if you want to talk hideous . . .

Nikki is directly teaching this student so would fall foul of this. Agree he wasn't good looking and agree re Jack's clothes

Jack's dad doesn't look long for this world, does he? The juxtaposition of the lightning and water on the floor kept making me think he was about to be electrocuted. Hope he's rescued in time.

I suspect Nikki is going to wake up and want to slink off. Pretty sure for her it's a ONS but think Ollie will think otherwise.

I feel like they made it very obvious they were setting up a Jack vs Ollie tension this ep so maybe he has to bring out his cage fighting skills again tonight. I’m not actually sure I can be bothered to watch tbh I might just get the summary from this thread instead!

Side note: I interviewed David Caves a couple of years ago and he is a lovely lovely man.

Crap storylines, hammy acting, bad cardies and dog killing! And no actual forensic stuff which is the bit I enjoy.

How bad is the actress playing the "senior care assistant"? And how bad must the junior care assistants be? They'd better not go down the line of Nikki's drink being spiked. She seemed like a very active participant to me. Agree re Sian Phillips maybe being the killer.

I've just read an interview with Emilia Fox where she stated that Nikki made some mistakes and that her relationship with Jack becomes very key towards the end of the series. She also said series 25 starts immediately after the end of series 24 so I bet that means there will be a cliffhanger tonight.

I felt like last night was akin to an episode of Eastenders with all the random drama. Clarissa really needs to come back and sort them all out, I would love it if she came back tonight - her with Nikki, Jack and Simone would be a good team I think and a good balance. I know it's not going to happen but sigh.

In fairness, I think the senior care assistant has been trying to convey 'vulnerable with a spot of learning difficulties'. I didn't think she was bad to begin with, but unravelled a bit.

It took me until today to realize beardy-son-with-a-massive-chip was the fitty bisexual from 'Emmerdale'.

That whole scene where the senior care assistant was running around like a headless chicken in the pouring rain and then had to retreat back to her caravan (glam accommodation not) was quite farcical!

Possibly a drink spiking but she seemed a bit too with it in my opinion, not very passive with Ollie.

Do we think this is going to be a 'they both need to make mistakes to find their way back to each other/to realise how they feel for each other' storyline with her and Jack?
Jack's dad dies, brings them even closer etc blah blah blah. I really don't mind the J&N romance storyline BUT I don't like that it seems to be taking the main focus and the plots seem like they are being written just with that in mind, and I think that's what has let this series down the most.
I just want some good, clever forensics really!

I wonder what the point of killing the dog was? It must serve some purpose plot-wise surely.

Probably tied up with the nurse, who is likely to be blamed for the actions of the doctor who snapped at her about knowing her place earlier on.

I think I felt most sorry for the dog tbh
