Yes happy birthday to Roger - he does seem to have been 40 for ever! Not sure if he’ll be at the US Open as his knee still seems to be bothering him (that’s what happens when you get old Rog!)

At least the time difference with Canada doesn’t seem to be too bad (still don’t really understand time differences!) so might be able to watch some of it hopefully

I have been so busy that I don't seem to have had a moment to look at any tennis/olympics. Suspect it's going to be that way for a while, but am enjoying it all.

I have had Olympics withdrawal today - so dd2 took 2 very soggy trips to the park.

Caught up with some Toronto scores (Prime is being a bit rubbish) Cilic is through, which is nice.

Foggy has just lost his first set against Struff.

Looks as if Foggy won in the end.

Rafa has arrived in Toronto and has been doing some sleeveless training - Sun’s out guns out . He’s got some very strange followers on Instagram

Just watched Celebrity Masterchef - the cooking was rubbish but I seem to have developed a middle age crush on Duncan from Blue!

I watched Masterchef. Duncan has overdone the 'Just for men' a tad .

I want Bez to win, even if his presentation skills leave much to be desired - wtf was the last thing meant to be .

Fizzy I've a feeling this might be another week where Rafa plays lates matches- I remember the final in Canada being a reasonable time (well, about 9pm) so that's not too bad.

He was arguing with umpires again, Nick, apparently Just for a change. I think the lockdown in Australia should have been extended for certain people. Indefinitely .

I've recorded Masterchef, so am avoiding the thread at the moment. Depending on who is cooking, I'll ff bits of it, especially the gurning greengrocer!

Dan lost again! Don't know if it's the after effects of covid or he's just lost his touch Let's hope he does better in the doubles. He's teamed up with Neal again, who's up to 15 in the world.

Dan does seem to have gone a bit downhill after his success on the clay - I’m not sure if COVID has had a lasting effect on him although he wasn’t doing that well before I suppose - hope he gets his form back

I saw Dan had lost kazza- I did wonder, when I saw he was up against Bublik, if it would be a tough one. Medvedev would be next- so either way, a tricky draw.

Daniil is in trouble against Bublik- just lost the first set. Medvedev has had a shaky summer, so far.

It's a shame the Humbert/Stef match is so late- Ugo beat Stef in the Olympics, Stef seems to think he's in with a chance though.

Rafa down played the foot thing at RG, I thought, as something he has had for a long time- made comments about insoles in his shoes- but it is obviously more than that. I hope he is going to be ok. With limited time on his side, he won't want to risk permanent injuries.

The Humbert match ended up being revenge for Stef- very tight second set time break.
