Andy won his match I see, but Dan didn't. He seems to be in a bit of a slump. Maybe he will recover a bit for the US open.

Dan does seem to be in a bit of a slump . I saw that Murray had won over Gasquet - I think Gasquet was a qualifier which seems a bit strange

I’m not sure if we’ll see Roger again unless it’s some sort of farewell exhibition . His operation is only giving him a glimmer of hope of coming back and he seems to be looking at things more long term like being able to run round with his kids etc. Just hope that Rafa’s injury isn’t as long term - I suppose age has to catch up with them eventually

Was also sad to see Naomi upset at her press conference

At least my PCR test came back negative - weirdly I can go to into work but DH can’t - the new rules seem a bit mad

Fizzy the new rules are mad. But I never fully understood the old rules, so it doesn't make much difference .(They changed them like the weather).

Is the Laver Cup still going ahead? It seems to be- it's listed on wiki with a few names already- but that can change easily, with injuries etc. I wonder if Fed would go along to that to support, being 'his' baby, after all.

I am not confident about Rafa's injury, I don't know why. It feels like one of those minor sounding things that end up not being at all.
I just wish Djok wasn't around- I got sick of hearing Greg waffling about calendar slams the other day. They should have learnt from the Olympics, not to count their chickens .

I, too, would prefer a birthday pizza to a cake. DD1 requested a chocolate cake for her birthday yesterday. I really don't like chocolate cake . (Odd, I know).

I've just seen a picture of Jannik's pizza - it had '20' written in pepperoni on it .

Maybe if Djok does get the 21st slam- someone can get him a gluten-free, vegan, cheeseless fake pizza - with 21 spelt out in figs. . Couldn't be a real one, he'd never eat it.

I saw the pizza with the pepperoni 20 Raahh - Djok would probably faint if he was presented with a real pizza with gluten and cheese

Hope your DD had a good birthday - I would rather have pizza than chocolate cake - those cakes made out of cheese look good as well!

Hopefully the pressure of the calendar slam will get too much for Djok at the US Open and he’ll have another meltdown - I’m sure that Medvedev will be able to wind him up somehow!

Fizzy Djok has got to the point where he can wind himself up in an empty room.. I hope he goes out early- that will mess with head- 3 years running, on a hard court.

I'm sure Daniil will be able to get under his skin (but that would be a final, and I don't want him to get that far). But I think anyone can push his buttons, if he starts losing. He got wound up by mild mannered PCB and look out that turned out . He has ishoos.

Yes he definitely has ishoos on many levels Raahh - I think it’s quite funny that PCB seems to wind so many players up

I assumed Sinner got pizza rather than cake because he was only 20 and not grown up enough for cake! I didn't think of the Italian angle

I know Dan lost again but he wasn't expected to beat Diego, the 10th seed, and at least he won a set this time! (Trying to find the positives...!) Fingers crossed for a good run in the doubles.

I'm watching Grigor and RBA- Grigor is wearing the same green kit that Opelka was- and it really shows up the sweat - either that or it is meant to look wet .

RBA is down 3-5 in this first set.

RBA is not playing so well. I've got used to it being Grigor on the losing side.

Jane that's not good.

Although I've seen both my mum and dad over the past week (they're divorced) and both had stinking colds. Both seem to think it's an allergic reaction to something though- mum's been painting, and my dad was stuck behind a horsebox for about 4 hours on his way back from a wedding down south. He is very allergic to horses.

I wonder if the fact fewer people are wearing masks now, just means that all the other germs are coming out of hiding .

The rain seemed to go on for ages yesterday, so I hgave up, but they must have finished some matches.
I saw that Paire beat Shapo- that will be a blow to Denis - I think he was very confident going into Toronto/Cincy and has now had 2 match round losses. Not that losing to Tiafoe- or even Paire (who can be ok when he wants to be) is a huge upset- but it's not what he wants.

Poor Dom- his slam win last year really felt like the start of something, and instead he just seemed to go off the boil/ get plagued by injuries.

That scary baby ad is just....well, I don't get it, for a start And it's just creepy. So, whilst I remember the advert- I don't remember what it's trying to sell.
