It was just bizarre. The actress must have been so embarrassed. Also as someone else said, why did Jack just stand there watching his friend struggle to breathe? Terrible story!

As I side note, it was interesting to hear Maria say she didn’t want to worry her parents. I hate to break it to you, love, but they don’t give a toss. They haven’t so much as phoned in a decade.

I thought they were all set up to do a presentation of the completed calendar, but then that young lad used the occasion to grass up Jason's evil scheme to get rid of Paul, so he could move back in with the vicar. Young lad played the recording of Jason incriminating himself. Calendar presentation was forgotten in the scrum and never mentioned again.

I imagine it was because of the amputation storyline. I can see why it needed an older actor… the problem is the difference in age has got more and more obvious over time!

The idea that Jack and Hope are only a couple of months apart in age is barmy. Hope is still getting bedtime stories and playing with a toy dinosaur; Jack looks about ready for his driving test!

Agree that the scenes with Maria telling everyone to stop driving then smashing up the van was bloody embarrassing. It's something a 4 year old would come up with.

I think Gary confessed all to Maria and that was why she dumped him as she didn't want to be married to a murderer. It was sometime between Sarah nearly getting knocked down and Gary saving her and Gary going to prison briefly to protect Faye. She soon got over it though!

Surely at some point Hopes past record and arson and being in special school place would come up and this is very much more of the same not a one off. Also “youth” isn’t that teenage or at very least high school she’s 10 and plays soft toys

That said, I do thing they are playing her as a smaller child - at 10, they’re not really into soft toys and bedtime stories so much, they’re off to secondary school next year after all. They’re not “small children” any more. Which is why they’re deemed to be capable of criminal responsibility.

Oh and the asthma storyline is incredibly annoying too. Yet ANOTHER illness storyline (to add the countless serious illnesses that residents of the street suffer from, but are scarcely, if ever, mentioned) which will no doubt be forgotten about in a couple of weeks.
And why does someone like Maria have a car anyway? She lives and works in the street. What does she need a car for?? TBH that applies to most of the residents of the street.

Yes. Michael get rid of Grace. She's gone from passing a baby off as yours, to getting herself impregnated by you, to moving into your house, to getting you into a relationship with her again, to getting your parents to buy her a new house, to getting you to pay her to work for you in a job that doesn't exist which she's going to slot in between childcare, ie, you're going to pay her for doing nothing!
