New thread for us to discuss all things Holby.

OP posts:

I don't think so.
He had an operation on his leg and then they took him back in a few hours later (?) for an operation on his bowel.

I think him and his sister were "used" for showing how important family was ( Dom and Angie being ok again )

MyOtherProfile · 30/03/2022 06:55

Oh yes. I guess they don't do bowel transplants!

PaddlingLikeADuck · 30/03/2022 07:04

I was really underwhelmed by it.

I think her character deserved more than the quiet, pretty un-noticeable death they gave her. It was all a bit too “blink and you’ll miss it “ for me and I was expecting a bit more drama and desperation and heartbreaking screams of despair etc. So yes, I was really disappointed.

The only good bit was when Henrik stood facing the man he likes (can’t remember his name at all) and announces “I’ve come for you.”

I think they might do actually.
SoupDragon · 30/03/2022 07:35

I hated the Henrik bit because they changed his character completely.

MissSueFlay · 30/03/2022 07:44

I was very cross about what they did to Henrik and I'm choosing to ignore it.

WhatICallMyUsername · 30/03/2022 08:19

@AntonMeyersNo1Fan my 2 DC both have names of characters from Holby but one was a baddie so not named after him Grin

TrashyPanda · 30/03/2022 08:50

Another one who didn’t like what they did to Henrik.

I liked the “quiet” death. It’s realistic. It’s how many people would like to go - peacefully. It was a dignified end for Jac.

“Nothing in (her) life became (her) like the leaving of it”

Nikki’s breakdown was great acting.

MirandaWest · 30/03/2022 09:01

I watched it late last night (had been watching DS with his band at a gig).

Thought I wasn’t going to cry and then as Jac read out the people her organs went to j was proper crying with heaving shoulders and everything.

I’m glad the death was the way it was - for me that was better than a loud dramatic one.

I’m going to miss Holby. My friend and I live 160 miles away and always discuss it when we’ve both watched it. I’ll miss that too.

ChoccyJules · 30/03/2022 09:25

I did like that Sacha realised there was something wrong because she told him she loved him!

SleepingStandingUp · 30/03/2022 11:11

@AntonMeyersNo1Fan

Oh Sad

Dc2 is named after a character from Holby. DC3 nearly didn’t arrive in hospital due to my stubborn insistence on watching the end of Holby. The only telly my Mum and I watch remotely together each week. It’s the end of something that’s been a stupidly big part of my life for 23 years. I’m tearing up again now.

The photos at the end. All of it. Good final episode I think

I'm hoping it's Henrik or Jac

Well given he was tortured and lonely, good 😂

Cameron and Matteo?

SleepingStandingUp · 30/03/2022 11:14

And I love that her last words were words of love to Sacha

SoupDragon · 30/03/2022 11:19

Well given he was tortured and lonely, good

It was ridiculous how they suddenly made him gay. Totally shoehorned it in to make a storyline.

Tontu · 30/03/2022 11:20

I was glad that it was Joseph who featured and not Johnny.
I totally lost it when Nikki broke down 😫

SleepingStandingUp · 30/03/2022 11:34

I'm still unhappy with the Ange thing with Dom.
He asks an I family. She dithered. But later Josh invites him to Curry Saturday. All good. Kenny was there to shoe Dom has a good heart and values family. But then she said "your Mom" not Carol or I and that bit felt a bit off or flat, like he still wasn't actually her child for her to be proud of

WhatICallMyUsername · 30/03/2022 11:36

@SleepingStandingUp nope! I should have name changed before I posted it in case I put myself Grin

SleepingStandingUp · 30/03/2022 11:36

As of October 2010, his family and love-life had not been decided upon, but it was suggested to Henry that while Hanssen was at medical school, he entered a relationship which did not work out and had not had a romance since. Henry commented that it was possible Hanssen was gay or bisexual, and that an upcoming storyline with a younger female mentee may involve unrequited love Its never really been set tho. He had a young relationship with EvilSpawns Mom, unrequited love with Abusive Teachers Daughter. I just can't get in a twist over him being bisexual if it makes him happy. Carol would have been my first choice but as she died that too would have been shit.
PaddlingLikeADuck · 30/03/2022 12:18

Absolutely. I found Nikki’s acting amazing last night throughout the entire show - and that scene when she broke down was hands down the best, most authentic one in the episode.

Followed by Henrik’s “I’ve come for you.”

MyOtherProfile · 30/03/2022 15:25

I feel like the whole episode was about Jac and her death and legacy. Everyone standing around her bed, her final words, her friends gathering, her organs going off to save other people, her voiceover at the end, all the cameos from people she was close to, and finally the remaining staff being pages to show that life goes on.

I thought it was very appropriate and totally Jac.

KatsuKatsu · 30/03/2022 15:28

Aw bit sad wasn't it!

ChoccyJules · 30/03/2022 16:22

I was also confused by the Dom and Ange interaction: when she said your Mum would be proud of you I thought she meant Carol and was pushing him away.

I got the impression, based on her facial expression, that she was referring to Carol, but also saying that she considered herself to be his mum too and that she was also proud of him.

Yeah I think it was meant to come across nicer than it did but I'm with you.

"I think your Mom would be proud of you. Both of us are" would have worked better with some small physical contact.
Instead of both teary "your Mom would be proud of you" and him walking off
