New thread for us to discuss all things Holby.

OP posts:

I'm glad Jeong has moved on from his rabbit-in-headlights persona - he was lovely last night and the dynamic between him and Dom could be really good, even if it's just as colleagues.

I wasn't expecting Jac back. My money was on Ric. I do like that new nurse practitioner.

SoupDragon · 28/07/2021 12:47

I thought Guy might have made a return. He seems difficult to get rid of permanently 😂

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 28/07/2021 13:21

I thought the whole point was that the actress who plays Jac wanted to spend more time with her family? Was that a purposeful misdirection by all concerned? How long ago is that she left the series - about three months?

SoupDragon · 28/07/2021 13:22

Maybe this role will involve less screen time or is just temporary whilst the hospital is in Special Measures?

NowWeAreSuckingDieselFella · 28/07/2021 13:51

I bet Rosie Marcel would have had different ideas if she'd known it was going to be cancelled!!!

NowWeAreSuckingDieselFella · 28/07/2021 13:56

In an interview on Digital Spy she says sorry to have fibbed to you but this has been a tight lipped secret for 4 months. She left in January so presumably she changed her mind for whatever reason. She says she was driving in wearing sunglasses, hat and mask Grin

SoupDragon · 28/07/2021 14:01

I wonder what all the long term cast members are going to do when it ends?

NowWeAreSuckingDieselFella · 28/07/2021 14:33

I wondered if they've got them all tied into contracts until filming is due to finish otherwise there might be no one left by the end! I keep speculating how they're going to end it!!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 28/07/2021 14:48

So have we got about six months of Holby City left then? What are our predictions for storylines and the 'end'?

I seem to recall ER ended with a new bunch of students turning up, including Mark's daughter (so a sort of full-circle approach), and things just carrying on as they had been.

On a different note, loved HH in his new glasses. They made him look much younger and less careworn!

spiderlight · 28/07/2021 15:12

Has HH dyed his hair as well? It looked darker. I was too distracted by his new glasses to react to Jac's return.

SoupDragon · 28/07/2021 15:14

Apparently it "will air its last episode in March 2022"

Fluffmonkey82 · 28/07/2021 16:17

@MyOtherProfile

Dom doesn't seem to be Dr Hans type because Dr Han seems to be straight. Although that doesn't mean anything in Holby.
Ha so true! Grin
SleepingStandingUp · 28/07/2021 16:20

No Jeong love for Dom. Dom is gonna turn nice and turn Fletch and adopt the Fletchings

SoupDragon · 28/07/2021 16:54

Or he will turn straight, marry Donna and drive off into the sunset in the last ever episode.

SoupDragon · 28/07/2021 16:55

Kian will come back from the dead, leaping out of a locker in the staff room shouting "Fooled ya!"

Mum21031608 · 28/07/2021 17:03

I knew it would be Jac coming back - and I agree with others about her shoes, it really looked like she didn’t know how to walk in them either. She looked very clunky and uncomfortable when she did full body shots.

I reckon that Dom will soon get some bad news regarding his mom’s prognosis, he will be distraught and sobbing his heart out, and when Jeong is trying to comfort him and hug him they somehow end up kissing.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 28/07/2021 21:33

I’ve had a mammoth catch up today off about three episodes so not sure this one was in - did anyone else spot Jeong listening in when Dom told that patient that he’d been in an abusive relationship? I thought it might be the beginning of Jeong understanding why Dom is as he is - he looks less like a deer in the headlights and more self-assured now and I think that’s part of the reason why.

Thought the way the Evie story line was handled this week was really weird - Evie (totally in love with whatshisname that Kian took on) seemingly quite happily slept with sleazy lawyer guy?

I did like that they showed Jac wrestling with memories of Kian rather than just pretending nothing had gone on there.

EBearhug · 28/07/2021 23:01

I assumed after the scone discussion that Dr Han is being lined up to save Evie.

I am not sure if I can see Kush as anyone but Kush.

MyOtherProfile · 29/07/2021 03:37

Yeah Kush is Kush I think.

SoupDragon · 29/07/2021 09:29

At the moment he definitely is still Kush but I'm hoping I'll forget that soon with the posh accent. From the actor's point of view, hopefully this short stint on Holby will get rid of that association so he can do other roles easily. It must be hard to move on when you've been in a role so long.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 29/07/2021 10:45

I assumed after the scone discussion that Dr Han is being lined up to save Evie. Why? Because of how he was with her?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 29/07/2021 10:50

I'm quite liking Kush with a posh accent :-).

SweetestThing · 29/07/2021 11:03

Trying to figure out where I've seen the patient with the aortic dissection before - was he in Bend it like Beckham? The gay friend of Jess?

Cottonheadedninymuggins · 29/07/2021 12:01

Yes, he was also a ferreria (prob not spelt right) on eastenders years ago.

Yes I'm sure that was him.
