New thread for us to discuss all things Holby.

Well I am a mess, they pulled it out of the bag in the last ten minutes, was so lovely to see all the old faces across the country waiting for Jac's organs. I'd love to se the pictures that were under the credits without the credits rolling on top of them as I bet there would be a good few characters I'd forgotten about.

cittigirl · 29/03/2022 20:43

Crying like a baby 😭

spiderlight · 29/03/2022 20:44

Wailing 😭 It was very well done though. Nice to see the all old faces at the end, although the end credits finished me off entirely.

maddiemookins16mum · 29/03/2022 20:45

I’ve just been proper ugly crying. Not cried this much at the telly since Barbara dying on CTM.

Optimist1 · 29/03/2022 20:47

A very moving episode.

In spite of my earlier prediction about multiple organ recipients (congrats to whoever predicted Roxy would get the heart), I was hoping against hope that the title I gave this thread last summer would be prophetic. Sad

Still crying Sad

I expected it to be a bit flat but that was an incredible piece of drama.

Pebbledashery · 29/03/2022 20:51

I've not cried like that over TV for a very long time.

HalleLouja · 29/03/2022 20:52

What a beautiful ending. Also her last words to Sasha that she loved him.

Joseph Byrne looked lush. Berena, Ric and Russ too.

At least HH got his happy ending. A few digs made about the current government too, seemed fitting.

MissSueFlay · 29/03/2022 21:07

I'm so sad that it's over Sad I just said to DH that I must have watched about 90% of the episodes over the last 23 yearsGrin. Jac was such a magnificent character, such a shame that out of all of them they aren't finding something for her to carry on - maybe Rosie wanted to wrap it up... I might go back to the beginning and start again!

burblish · 29/03/2022 21:44

Can’t believe it’s over - I’ve watched it religiously since the beginning. Rosie Marcel - what a phenomenal actress she is. The end was so moving (and no happy ending for her with Joseph slayed me even though it clearly wasn’t going to happen). Loved seeing Ric, Joseph, Mo, Berena and others. A real love letter to the NHS to wrap it all up - very fitting. Sigh!

HalleLouja · 29/03/2022 21:48

I thought Ric had retired. 😂😂😂

burblish · 29/03/2022 21:53

(Is it totally irrational of me to be annoyed that it ended at s23 ep50 instead of ep52? Holby seasons are meant to be 52 episodes long! I get that this is rather minor in the context of, y’know, the entire show being cancelled, but it has annoyed me nonetheless!)

Ilovefluffysheep · 29/03/2022 21:56

Another one who was ugly crying at the end. The way she narrated who was getting the various organs just tipped me over the edge.

So sad that's the end.

MyOtherProfile · 29/03/2022 21:57

@HalleLouja

I thought Ric had retired. 😂😂😂
Maybe he needed to top up his pension 😆
WhatICallMyUsername · 29/03/2022 21:59

I questioned whether that was Joseph as he looked so different and weirdly he wasn't credited when I checked (all the current cast were at the top then a clear line then the returners and the two characters who have only been in one or two were listed separately)

Jac's back! HOLBY CITY thread (no spoilers, please)
ididntevennotice · 29/03/2022 22:07

It was definitely him, no idea why no credit for Luke Roberts.

spiderlight · 29/03/2022 22:08

Just went upstairs to find DH:
-Has it finished then?
-Yes.
-Was it a double episode?
-No.

  • What have you been doing for the past hour, then? Crying? [looks up at me] Oh.....
HalleLouja · 29/03/2022 22:10

Proper ugly crying here too.

ChoccyJules · 29/03/2022 22:13

Well I held out until Nicky carried the heart across to the other theatre and then I did shed a few tears.

So glad for Henny.

Loved the bleed in Dom’s op, there has to be a bleed!

There’s a few last day etc videos on Twitter and Joseph Byrne is there smiling at the camera at one point. Odd that he wasn’t credited in the final episode as his appearance was spoilered a while ago.

Overall I am bereft in terms of the only programme I ever watched ‘live’ anymore finishing. That’s me totally in the realm of streamed TV now…I have watched the whole thing from the beginning. Sometimes it was great, other times it was daft. But it must have been entertaining for me to keep at it.

SleepingStandingUp · 29/03/2022 22:16

Just finished it. No tears as I'm just a bit numb after a long day with toddlers from hell but it was a lovely ending, bits of Jac across the country helping all sorts of people.
I'm kinda glad they did wrap up the other stories other than HH, I couldn't work out tho where that left things with Dom and Ange (also loved that they all put coats on to go outside except the Scot)

SoupDragon · 29/03/2022 22:27

I thought it was twee and crap 🙁 Especially the bit with Henrik.

TrashyPanda · 29/03/2022 22:39

A quiet death, rather than during on an op, or heart failure plus resuscitation efforts.
Unusual for a TV prog, but perfect.
The drama was not in the manner of death, but in death itself - the impact on those left living.
And without death, there would be very few organ transplants, so for there to be life, there has to be death. The two are inextricably linked. Jac gave so many people the renewed chance of life during her career, and she continues to do so, right to the end.
The love her friends showed through their grief was so moving, so perfect. And Fletch saying “love you, Jac,” was so very poignant.

Such a moving episode

Loved the old photos at the end. We paused the tv to get a better look and wished they weren’t partially obscured. Especially loved the one with HH smiling.

bizzey · 29/03/2022 22:41

Wow ☹️😭.
I certainly did not clock Joseph Byrne !
I also re checked the credits !

Did not watch it live ...but have saved my recording to watch again .

I thought the ending was very well done .

AntonMeyersNo1Fan · 29/03/2022 22:51

Oh Sad

Dc2 is named after a character from Holby. DC3 nearly didn’t arrive in hospital due to my stubborn insistence on watching the end of Holby. The only telly my Mum and I watch remotely together each week. It’s the end of something that’s been a stupidly big part of my life for 23 years. I’m tearing up again now.

The photos at the end. All of it. Good final episode I think

MyOtherProfile · 29/03/2022 23:03

Can I just check something? Did Kenny get anything from Jac? I didn't really take note of what his op was for so don't know if he was a recipient.
