Well that's nice. Sad for PHH and Mahut, probably Mahut's last shot at an Olympics. I hope Joe get some credit for the win though, eh?

I remember the last Olympics someone got proper stroppy with me on one of these threads because it was towards the end of the singles and I wanted Rafa/Delpo to win their matches. Couldn't understand why I wouldn't support Andy.

I had to point out this was the tennis thread- and there were numerous patisan Olympic threads around they could join if they wanted to. .

I have just seen a non- Olympic British win though, for Cameron Norrie against Taylor Fritz, in Los Cabos.

I wrote Taylor Swift - twice- and it didn't even look wrong.

I think I need more sleep. it must be the heat.

That’s a good result for Murray and Salisbury - it’s weird how Joe never really gets a mention and he wins loads of stuff - he’s also older than he looks (although everyone looks about 12 to me these days!)

It’s a bit cooler here today - glad you are enjoying the heatwave magi but it’s just been a bit too hot for me. It was nice sitting in the garden with a g&t though

I don't know why Joe doesn't get much recognition, over the last few years he has won quite a bit- and it's not like, personality wise, Andy and Jamie are the Chuckle brothers is, it? , so I'm really sure why he gets so over looked. Maybe he likes it that way, I don't know. I get cross on his behalf .

Neal and Jamie won their doubles after being a set and a break down. Apparently, they're the 7th seeds. They lost 5kg between them during the match! I don't know how anyone can play tennis (or any sport) in that heat and humidity. I can't even sit out in it!

I was glad it was cooler today, because I really wanted to take the dog for a proper walk. We were both both getting fed up .

I have not lost any weight hides the hobnobs.

I'm half watching the Irish women's hockey match. It's still roasting here. We had a massive thunderstorm yesterday evening and I thought the dog was going to have a heart attack he was panicking so much.

My dog is nuts. he doesn't care about thunderstorms, or fireworks, or any of the things that Blue Peter tell you dogs are meant to be scared of.
The Olympics coverage isn't that great- I read that the BBC haven't got the rights to much this time around (until Thursday?) so the red button is only showing 2 live things at a time. I found that I have different things on some Eurosport channels, and a couple of Sky ones. But I don't think I can watch any of the tennis at the moment. (though most of it is on in the early hours anyway).

I've been reading that the heat has been posing lots of problems for the players. Daniil hasn't been happy. Saw a picture of him with one of those hoover attachment air-conditioner things .

Just watching Adam Peaty in the swimming. He looks really old all of a sudden and has a very odd moustache. He's only 26!

In other news, Peaty won his semi but I think perhaps in a slower time than yesterday's heat, despite having shaved his top lip

Ash and On sounds like a show on Cbeebies - which made mre realise what Adam Peaty looked like- The Lorax!

In terms of rankings, Cam is still number 2, because he is about 50 points or so behind Dan. I think he could go ahead, if he reaches the final in Atlanta next week.

I am actually watching live tennis! Kohlshreiber and Tsitsipas, neck and neck in the 3rd set, and they both look very sweaty. Well, Stef look s worse. .

Not helped by what is possibly a 'wet look' fabric t-shirt like Domi wears.

Or it could just be wet .
