I'm a bit behind on my tennis news.
Djok and Thiem have withdrawn from Toronto.
And Keith beat Rublev- bit mixed on that one, I'm glad Kei won, but it reduces the field of people who might beat Djok...

Though he's playing Struff next - so a struffing could be on the cards (I'm finding the schedule a bit hard to follow).

It's a bit of a worry about Domi, actually, he is not due to play until the US open, where he is the defending champion- and his form has been poor since he won it really. I hope he is ok.

Yes I’m hoping that Djok will get a Struffing! He was complaining about the heat and humidity the other day. I’m also finding the tennis schedule a bit confusing - don’t think the BBC are showing it at the moment - not sure if it will be on Eurosport?

Just seen Tom Daley and his diving partner win gold - so pleased for them - I also still think Tim Daley is about 13 but he’s a proper grown up now!

The Norwegian triathlon bloke should have taken a leaf out of their curlers- and worn a more snazzy pair of trousers .

Austrian Open is on BT Sport. Ernests is playing at 4 ish.

I really want to watch the Olympics tennis but the BBC have limited rights. And don't get me started on the dumbed down shambles that is the nightly highlights programme with Balding and Scott

I'd say it was a shock about Naomi, but given how little tennis she's played- plus the pressure, it's probably not a shock at all. Keith is winning in his match at thr moment against Giron- would be a turn up , if he could win a medal, wouldn't it?

We are having a rubbish day. After a week of isolating, and a day back at work- somehow, ds has tested positve. This is a disaster as we have a week of re-scheduled hospital/dental/ you name it appointments from when dd1 had to isolate umpteen times. It means dd2 will miss her last day (and it's her best friend's last day at the school- she's moving counties - so that won't go well. She doesn't know yet[sad).
Ugh. Bloody covid.

I agree Kazza the Clare Balding programme is awful - why do they have to dumb everything down? They did show Marin giving himself a good talking to but it didn’t do him any good!

Did anyone see Adam Peaty’s baby - he just looked like a tiny version of his Dad (minus the tatts and the tache!)

We haven’t got BT Sport Jane - you have to be a millionaire to watch all the tennis these days!

Fizzy don't get me started on the fact Joe barely gets a mention. But it's always the way. If they win: it will because Andy olayed brilliantly no doubt.

I record the highlights programme so I can fast forward through the sports I don't care about and, more importantly, the utter crap they are dishing up.
I just want to watch the sports. As much as Adam's mum was funny about her reaction to his tache and his son was cute, I don't want to hear from family and friends for 10 minutes!

I have just discovered more Olympic action on Virgin channels 537 to 543. They do not necessarily seem to show the sport they say they are!

There's just too much talk about the action and not enough of the actual action.
DH said maybe it's because the BBC don't have the rights to a lot of it, which may be true but, if so, just shorten the programme!

There is far too much waffle on the BBC highlighs, mainly because they still haven't got the right to show much. I just wish they wouldn' t bother.
It's all getting a bit twee. I thought at one point we would would be subjected to half an hour of Tom Daley's baby as well to fill the time. I'm sure he's lovely but his crying father but more than enough. I was glad when 'Only Connect' started.
