Lighthearted and a chance to vent!

Right now for me it's the Dairy Milk icecream one (Magnum ripoff), where the kid is grating chocolate onto vanilla ice cream, and then pouring melted chocolate on it...an older guy (meant to be a brother or parent?) then gets two Dairy Milk ice creams out of the freezer and tells the kid he can have one after he's cleared the mess up. Tagline is "You already know blah blah blah"

Grinds my gears because it's just so stupid! Surely the kid would already know those ice creams are already in the freezer? When I was kid we knew exactly what was in the fridge and freezer at all times!

And the only thing I already know about Dairy Milk chocolate is that it's now vile...

I think it’s Amazon Alexa or something. There’s a little girl and she keeps asking ‘how did you do that? ‘How did you know that?’ when the parents say oh the food is here or oh we need to stand here to get the empty seats on the train.

And they just…smile beatifically and point blank ignore her!!! If she wants to know why don’t you tell her?!

Yes I know I’m overthinking. Also HATE all the NatWest stupid twee poetry things, they’re all awful. And Phillip Scholfield with puppies.

earminted · 01/07/2021 22:40

Co-op, 'It's what we do' . That voice!!!!!

NoWordForFluffy · 01/07/2021 22:48

The Nationwide poem ones. Awful, cringey, bloody things.

Mollypolly2610 · 01/07/2021 23:32

The noddy head men in the home alarm one who obviously are not allowed to speak.

PanamaPattie · 01/07/2021 23:37

Nationwide poems, the Domino's one where they yodel, the pay by card one where they go "ooooooooooooooooooooooooh" and the one with the squirrel and oat bars.

Hillbillyhotel · 01/07/2021 23:45

The tampon advert-‘you’ve got to get it up there,girls’-gives me the RAGE!

safariboot · 01/07/2021 23:55

The Zoopla one that makes out the only thing important about a home is £££s. Such an awful materialistic attitude, yuck.

LifeinPieces21 · 01/07/2021 23:58

Dominoes Yodel

Not seen this one but my Mum mentioned how weird it is.
purpleme12 · 02/07/2021 09:22

I don't like the Philip Schofield ones either
He went a bit down in my estimation after seeing those adverts

No. Smug twat!
LittleLottieChaos · 02/07/2021 10:00

Horrible home selling advert where the couple gush about loving their home and then they check the stupid increase in value and sell it. Honestly, it’s like two fingers up in the face of the poor. It’s utterly crass and revolting.

midsomermurderess · 02/07/2021 10:44

An Insurance one. 2 women driving cars singing 'I wish I knew what is is to be free' or something. It's an abomination. Screeching voices, unlistenable too. It must be muted instantaneously. So many ads seem obnoxiously loudly shrieking these days though.

midsomermurderess · 02/07/2021 10:46

And that Yodelling one is almost torture.

The ' Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh' one has me in a rage whenever I hear it. I can imagine blue whales hundreds of miles away responding to it, as a call for help for one of their own kind Grin
whensmynexthol1day · 02/07/2021 11:14

There is one for a wine company (laithwaites?) that drives me up the wall - it's not funny when it thinks it is and the people all pull annoying funny faces throughout which drives me mad. It seems to be on every all 4 ad break at the moment!

PanamaPattie · 02/07/2021 11:14

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants Grin

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 02/07/2021 17:35

Yes Panama, glad it isn't just me. Whoever thought that was a good idea? Did they not run it by a focus group or summat? Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 02/07/2021 18:12

Oh yes, that 'Oooooooooooh' one is shite. As is Ocado's latest offering.

suckingonchillidogs · 02/07/2021 18:32

They seriously need to retire those bloody meerkats now

ThedaBara · 02/07/2021 19:14

The cat treat one (dreamies?) Where the guy doesn't have a cat but buys some cat treats to lure cats in to his house and pretend they're his for a woman he's dating. I know it's not that deep but I was thinking rape by deception!!

Sparklingbrook · 02/07/2021 19:17

@LifeinPieces21

Dominoes Yodel
Same here. That is hands down the worst on TV.

Omg the ooooooooooooooooh one gives me the worst rage ever!!

Also the house giveaway ones. Her crazy smile when she talks reminds me of the video for the song Black hole sun by sound garden if anyone remembers it??

Sorry don't want to be rude but that ad is actually for a motability car company not insurance.

The ladies singing are all disabled. I can see how it could be annoying if you don't realise but as a disabled person myself who is waiting for a motability car I actually find it quite emotional!

Rosesareyellow · 02/07/2021 19:41

The Facebook portal where two guys are talking after presumably one of their partners has had a miscarriage. I mean the actors are very good - so it’s just a bit too serious and uncomfortable to watch, especially when you’re in the middle of watching something very lighthearted.
