Hi all,

This is @StillCoughingandLaughing. My account got deleted because someone accused me of racism and, even though her accusations were removed, the fact that I fought back was apparently worse than making false allegations in the first place. Hence no more account.

I just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed talking Corrie with you all Smile I’m sorry that it’s over. All the best to anyone who sees this before it’s deleted x

@WomanStanleyWoman

Talking of professionalism, what about Sarah accusing her business partner of ‘poor management skills’ in front of the staff and in the middle of the pub? Just your everyday senior management meeting 🙄

I’d also forgotten Sarah worked in the Rovers for quite a while. That never really worked, did it?

Sarah's clothes always look ill fitting like the suit yesterday and definitely unprofessional but soaps seem to have no boundaries between work and home life
Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/07/2021 10:28

I know this may sound petty but its on my mind so ill say it.

I can't stand the way Sarah talks in that posh voice. She's supposed to be from a back street in Manchester.

TheVolturi · 07/07/2021 11:06

When are they going to tone the campness down on Daisy? No one on earth speak every sentence in such an annoyingly twatty way.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/07/2021 11:44

They bring all the new characters in the same, though. Self indulgent, posing pouty
ridiculously over confident types. It’s so predictable.

MotionActivatedDog · 07/07/2021 12:14

Have the abandoned grieving Nina and Abby and the murder trial?

I can’t stand the way Corrie does that. It’s every single storyline. They run it for 2 weeks then it’s entirely forgotten about for the next storyline instead of running it alongside the next one. You know like how real life operates? They should all be forced to watch classic corrie.

Akire · 07/07/2021 12:16

Old Corrie has had Roy and Rita having a doorway knocked between their flats for least 12 episodes that’s least 4 weeks in live tv time. Normal everyday things not shootings and ambulance a week.

Akire · 07/07/2021 12:17

Not Roy Alec

theresnoonequitelikegrandma · 07/07/2021 12:24

I've got so confused about when Corrie's on these days that I've just had to record it all and now I've binge watched about 4 episodes and my head is spinning!

Kind of glad the Todd is evil storyline hasn't been forgotten but....Gail goes to blooming Thailand and nobody gives her a hug? Yasmeen is upstairs while Ryan's DJ-ing? The garden is unsafe due to the sink hole one minute and the next Sam is out there alone?.......I need to lie down! 🤣🤣

Akire · 07/07/2021 12:28

I’ve missed last two but knew about Gail talking about Thailand. I thought she spent all of her cash on the house and that’s why no money for sink hole? Even no covid how much would you need to live in hotel in a Thailand for 6months??

woodhill · 07/07/2021 12:38

Yes, why would she want to leave her house. Perhaps she charges David rent to finance her trip.

She never seemed to have a steady job

TheVolturi · 07/07/2021 15:34

I think there are fairly cheap digs in Thailand! Like a fiver a night cheap. Not sure I can picture Gail in a hut though 🙄

butterpuffed · 07/07/2021 16:53

I missed the episode after the one where Sam told Gail she was having a heart attack but presume she was ? She wouldn't been allowed to fly so soon afterwards Shock

nildesparandum · 07/07/2021 18:48

I can't stand Billy

Neither can I.Totally unbelievable character. Surely no vicar goes on like him.A complete joke he is.Prances around in a clerical collar and fancy shirt.Does most of his vicaring in the pub and cafe.He will be working in the knicker factory next as the ''spiritual advisor''
And the daft Summer storyline- no words.

excelledyourself · 07/07/2021 19:14

I can't stand his voice. It's totally different in real life.

excelledyourself · 07/07/2021 19:16

I mean, I can't stand the rest of him either, but particularly his voice.

Him and Todd are completely unbelievable as a couple.

ajandjjmum · 07/07/2021 19:20

I thought that!
SpindleWhorl · 07/07/2021 19:24

How old's Gail? 70? With a heart condition? Like @butterpuffed says, she's not really long-haul material. Her travel insurance premium would be about a grand a week.

Or will that be the story? That she hasn't got travel insurance and has a medical emergency when sampling the delights of Bangkok. And the family have to sell Sinkhole Manor and their shares in that bloody knicker factory for the hundredth time.

CiaoForNiao · 07/07/2021 19:29

I checked with my Vicar friend today about what Archdeacon Billy should be doing.
He wouldn't have a church or any parishioners to look after (not that he seemed to when he was a Vicar either.)
He would spend a lot of time checking that "his" Vicars were sticking to law, including canonical law.
She said a storyline about his work would be boring because it would be things like
"Hey Billy. What are you up to?"
"Oh just checking canon 4.1..."

And IME Vicars spend a lot of time Vicaring in the pub Wink

Then there’s poor old Fay in prison! Tim was up in arms determined to appeal… for all of one episode. Now he’s happily playing fanboy to James without a thought for his incarcerated daughter.

So Billy is like the Vicar Police?!

I wonder what part of canonical law his shenanigans with Paul and Todd are compatible with?

Yes! Exactly. I’d forgotten about faye precisely because they drop the storyline so quickly.

CiaoForNiao · 07/07/2021 21:20

@SpindleWhorl

So Billy is like the Vicar Police?!
Basically. She said a teachers career could be teacher >>> deputy head >>> head.
A Vicars would be Vicar >>> Archdeacon >>> Bishop

I wonder what part of canonical law his shenanigans with Paul and Todd are compatible with? They will be allowed a civil partnership but not a Church Wedding
Maybe they will campaign for a change in the rules.
And I know a Vicar who has behaved far worse!

Akire · 07/07/2021 21:37

In reality he be stuck in office all day every day doing boring paperwork. Doing all jobs the bishop doesn’t want to do and needs doing. Why can’t they have little office
For him I don’t know. Can itv not afford the set? In old Corrie they have whole flipping supermarket.

Don’t get if Izzy has been ill for most of the last year how she has managed to work or just getting paid for nothing? Surely after the first week they can see she hasn’t done it or so badly she’s not paid?

Billy's private life would be under scrutiny and wouldn't the church expect Todd or Paul to be involved in church life and be a believer not just a peripheral

Akire · 07/07/2021 21:53

No expectation husband would be believer or church goer. I know there are gay vicars don’t know many got married. Plus having sexual relationships and boyfriends moving in pre marriage isn’t exactly looked upon in good light.

Shame really as they could use vicar in lots story lines but he’s hasn’t any with other cast has he? All their own drama all of the time. Even when Ollie died he wasn’t around. Faye in prison not to be seen. Seb died was he leading candle Vigil in the gardens. No.

His ex Sean losing money and home (again) due to silly business not even a chat over coffee. Has he been annoying Peter and taking him jigsaws in hospital, no.

Think someone needs to check
He is an actual vicar isn’t jumping in the loos in freshco changing his uniform and working in Asda all week.
