Anyone watching? Bench Seat Man has gone!

It is rather small inside.....but I can see why they're emotionally attached to the armoire.

They have some lovely stuff

fourquenelles · 31/05/2021 20:19

Nope don't like this idea. Looks wrong with their existing furniture

Halsall · 31/05/2021 20:20

They did say their budget was £65,000, didn't they? I'm boggling a bit at what they seem to expect to be able to do with what seems a relatively modest amount Hmm

Yeah can't see that kitchen being done to that level at that price and it doesn't match their traditional style.

fourquenelles · 31/05/2021 20:23

I am in the SE and it cost just shy of £15K just to have my stairs turned around and a corridor created - nothing fancy.

Becuna · 31/05/2021 20:34

We lost Bench Seat Man only for him to be replaced by Bench Seat Woman! Really don’t like her design, where are the work surfaces.?

jay55 · 31/05/2021 20:34

Interesting they've both gone for funny patterns in the skylights.

fourquenelles · 31/05/2021 20:36

This design seems to be much more "them"

Halsall · 31/05/2021 20:36

Oh dear....I'm not really keen on either of these.

OP posts:
jay55 · 31/05/2021 20:39

So if all the knick knacks are in the kitchen cupboards where does all the normal kitchen stuff go? In the island?

321zyx · 31/05/2021 20:39

Not keen on this one - too red brick.

Annalou30 · 31/05/2021 20:40

I cannot believe an architect has visualised net curtains 🤢

unfortunateevents · 31/05/2021 20:41

I'm not feeling the love with either of these designs at all. I don't like their taste though so maybe both architects felt constrained by the need to include all the frou frou touches, the armoire etc - I felt neither of them were comfortably playing to their strengths.

EsmaCannonball · 31/05/2021 20:43

I like elements of Will's design but their main complaint was always being in each other's way in the kitchen and they are going to be replicating that, having to edge around that massive kitchen island.

Becuna · 31/05/2021 20:46

I much prefer the second one and I think it it more their taste. Not saying I would have it but it is much more interesting than the first and may well be in budget, which would be a first 😀

fourquenelles · 31/05/2021 20:46

That's surprised me!

jay55 · 31/05/2021 20:47

Oh there goes the budget. Already.

EsmaCannonball · 31/05/2021 20:47

I think the first design is just more practical. Will put in The Stairs of Death.

Halsall · 31/05/2021 20:47

Yep, surprise, surprise......

OP posts:
unfortunateevents · 31/05/2021 20:48

Did I just hear the budget is now £110K?!

Halsall · 31/05/2021 20:49

It is indeed!

OP posts:
jay55 · 31/05/2021 20:52

Have they really gone from that big oval dining table to an indoor picnic table?

They look delighted with it.

unfortunateevents · 31/05/2021 20:53

Why are people not upfront about what they can actually afford and how much they are prepared to spend BEFORE the architects draw up the plans?! Surely that could completely change the designs?
