So another itv drama. I liked too close , the drowning one and few others

On every night this week

When primary school teacher Gemma goes missing in Manchester , surveillance officers martin and Stella are tasked with observing the prime suspect , Gemma boyfriend Greg

I’m guessing it’s too obvious to be the bf so if she is dead /not found it’s not him

But blondes has known to be wrong 😂

Might have been better to have left the last episode unaired. Then they could have pretended it was a great, riveting, plausible finale, instead of far fetched drivel. I saw Noel Clarke in 5 Guys in Westfield once. He didn't look like he wanted to be messed with, not that a lady such as I would ever approach a "celeb"

TangledUp789 · 01/05/2021 17:13

@Cowbells

So, if you accidentally kill someone and dump them in a neighbour's freezer, and an ex CID surveillance man comes to watch a suspect you know is innocent, the first thing you;d do is show him how to secretly access your building via the empty flat where you kept the frozen body, isn't it? Because that's not just clunky plot engineering at all, is it?

I haven't seen a worse script on TV in years.

It was Caitlin who told Martin about the empty downstairs flat, when he was telling the surveillance team they’d have to enter through the front door.

I did think it was silly of Zoe to keep her binoculars and notebook in such an easy to find place. There was a policeman alone in her flat most of the day and the notebook had evidence of her voyeurism and the access code to the basement (complete with dead body), so you’d think she would have binned them!

I’ve downloaded stuff but when it time to go it deletes automatically

Says will be deleted 10.59pm tomorrow

Can someone explain what made Martin suspicious when he was watering the plants? He stared at the photo, then went to lift the rug up. Why?

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/05/2021 17:49

It was a pic of owner and her

Like in a relationship

The stabbing made no sense

Clawdy · 01/05/2021 18:26

@Blondeshavemorefun

It was a pic of owner and her

Like in a relationship

But why did he lift the rug? Why would a pic make him get suspicious?
butterpuffed · 01/05/2021 18:28

Thanks mum2jakie

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/05/2021 18:49

Think as she didn’t say was in a relationship abs she was with Tim

I’m still thinking she bumped him off and using his flat

Look at the background of the photo and you can see the rug. It looks like it's hung on the wall or draped over a chair decoratively. It's a bit odd then to take a nice rug and put it outside your front door in a block of flats, where it would get trampled over by the postman every day.
Davros · 01/05/2021 20:03

I didn't think it was Zoe in the photo with the dead downstairs neighbour

Cocolapew · 01/05/2021 20:05

No I didn't think so either, the point of it was he noticed the rug.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/05/2021 20:16

Oh. I didn’t even notice the rug in the pic 😂🙀

So he saw on floor and picked it up and saw the faint smidge of blood

OP posts:
lazymum99 · 01/05/2021 22:04

Thanks for that explanation. I didn’t think it was Zoe in the photo but also didn’t know what made him notice the rug

Davros · 01/05/2021 22:14

Must be his observation training Grin

EdwinPootsLovesArchaeology · 01/05/2021 23:41

@HectorHalloumi

Whatever he's done or not done, it should be a police matter not trial by media. Why have these women gone to the papers rather than the police?
They have.

They also went to BAFTA weeks ago, who yesterday set up 'victim support' which I think is a charity phone line.

Women can't do right for doing wrong in these situations. Someone will say now that going to the Police is 'premature' and that BAFTA and ITV should investigate first ...

Clawdy · 01/05/2021 23:48

I didn't think the pic was Zoe either.

EdwinPootsLovesArchaeology · 02/05/2021 00:09

@Clawdy

I didn't think the pic was Zoe either.
Gemma probably.

It was all crap.

DinosaurDiana · 02/05/2021 08:22

I think the picture was of the flat owner and another woman.
The thing that caught his eye was that the rug was previously hung on the wall, but it had been moved and put outside the front door.

Synthesiser · 02/05/2021 08:32

@purpleme12

Well I guess I'll just have to hope it's there tomorrow!!
It wasn't giving me the option to watch episode 5 on itv hub either, so I put episode 4 on and when it got to the end it went on to episode 5. I've had to do that with other series too. My TVs quite old so might be why
GillBiggeloesHair · 02/05/2021 08:37

Ep 5 is on YouTube is anyone is interested.

purpleme12 · 02/05/2021 11:33

@Synthesiser it did have episode 5 on itv player yesterday but it just wasn't clear if they'd take it off at the end of yesterday or the end of today
But it's still on there now

Yes I wasn't able to get episode 5 on my TV unless I put episode 4 on then let it go onto 5, so I watched it that way

purpleme12 · 02/05/2021 15:06

Ok I've watched it now
I thought it was really good!
I really wasn't expecting the ending!
