So another itv drama. I liked too close , the drowning one and few others

On every night this week

When primary school teacher Gemma goes missing in Manchester , surveillance officers martin and Stella are tasked with observing the prime suspect , Gemma boyfriend Greg

I’m guessing it’s too obvious to be the bf so if she is dead /not found it’s not him

But blondes has known to be wrong 😂

Zoe is supposed to be crap mum - she's a heavy drinker (no normal people leave empty gin bottles under the sofa) and she smokes weed.
When those other people (Kate? Carl?) Invited her for a drink, Caitlin was already nowhere to be seen. Are we supposed to think her neighbours think that it's fine that Caitlin let herself in and went to bed? Confused

mum2jakie · 26/04/2021 22:33

Hmm. Bit silly but have definitely seen worse. I'll watch tomorrow night...

Piggywaspushed · 26/04/2021 22:48

Why has that Carl got a ridiculous Italian(?) accent? His surname is Tuckman?

HectorHalloumi · 26/04/2021 22:57

Was that Italian? I was straining my ears but couldn't make out if it was Eastern European or Irish Blush

Allywill · 26/04/2021 23:11

Would anyone let someone use their daughter’s bedroom 24 hrs a day? I know she said she sleeps with mum but surely she needs her bedroom/space for dressing, homework etc. Seems a big ask and unlikely someone would just agree. And what’s the significance of the South African person flat - Zoe has key - bet that becomes significant later.

stumbledin · 26/04/2021 23:54

I already started a thread on this earlier in the day to alert people. shame to have started another one.

Not very convinced by this. Surely if a flat is going to be used for surveillance the family would be told not to use the room, or alternatively, wouldn't the family be housed elsewhere temporarily?

All seems a bit improbable. The mother immediately going into the suspects flat on being asked not to. And I can see her and the surveillance guy getting it together before too long, with the amount of flirting going on.

As for the battery dying at the very moment it's needed - words fail me. Did the woman not realise a phone has been invented that can video things ? More plot holes than you can count!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/04/2021 09:36

Ok seen

I like it but I’ve said before I’m Easily pleased

Not sure why they are doing so much Surveillance on the bf

Must be a bigger story that we find out

Agre silly go hijack daughters bedroom and not find them an other place to live

Then say the host can’t see the suspect

They are neighbours so will see him/pop over

Agree also the keys to downstairs must mean something

Why wasn’t the video camera plugged in?

Who is the lady ?

35 calls a day every day. Jesus Mary joseph and the wee donkey 😂😂😂

That’s a little extreme

Yeah, it's a bit... hmm.

Admittedly I wasn't giving it the full Line of Duty note-taking concentration but I couldn't work out whether Noel was a freelance surveillance person, or a policeman (why was their office a picturesque warehouse and not some grim strip-lit box like everyone else?). Can you really just nip off to the hospital for several hours without telling anyone in the middle of what might be a murder investigation, leaving all your kit in the hands of someone who might end up being involved? And the mothers were a bit interchangeable. It was like they'd got a Line of Duty script and a Motherland script and glommed it all together.

To be honest, by the end, I was more involved with the lovely Georgian flats than the actual plot. Which isn't a good sign, really.

alloverthecarpetagain · 27/04/2021 12:02

I really liked it, thought it made a change to see a different side of police work rather than the usual dead body followed by trudging round in the rain, knocking on doors sort of stuff. I loved the trendy police warehouse place the surveillance team use - and Phil Davis being there means it will surely be more important at some point? I liked the cliffhanger at the end - why does she follow him into the flat? Is she trying for a bit of amateur detective work or is she attracted to him? She knows they are being watched, so is that the thrill for her?

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/04/2021 12:43

And the added bonus of Noel

Bulletproof is fab if you fancy him and detective /police

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2021 13:10

The woman who owns the flat was in a film once with James Cordon about Paul Potts who won BGT. I spent too much time looking her up than following the actual plot, which I did find a bit odd and a bit slow at times (note to self, pay more Attention in future)
I've not seen this Noel guy in anything before.
He is cute.
What's with the lady detective in the wheelchair ? Obviously something he messed up before.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/04/2021 13:43

I’m assuming an ex. She got hit by a lorry , Possibly when undercover

OP posts:
Synthesiser · 27/04/2021 13:51

My theory is Zoe bumped off Gemma as she is secretly angry Gemma gave yummy mummy Kate's daughter the plum role in the school play and got her daughter painting scenery. Wink
Or maybe it was the jilted headmaster.
I don't think it was Greg.
I'd like to know more about the woman in the wheelchair

KittytheHare · 27/04/2021 14:07

Headmaster is definitely creepy.

the80sweregreat · 27/04/2021 15:33

It was nice to have a setting that wasn't a middle class house somewhere posh and huge!

lazymum99 · 27/04/2021 17:09

I thought the woman in the wheelchair had been Noels partner and he was responsible for letting her get stabbed and ending up in wheelchair. Someone did get hit by a lorry but I thought it was the attacker running off

lazymum99 · 27/04/2021 17:10

It’s quite watchable but he doesn’t seem very professional. Battery running out and disappearing to hospital leaving all the equipment running.

ChildOfFriday · 27/04/2021 17:12

Yes, I also thought that the lady in the wheelchair was the one who was stabbed in the flashback and it was someone else that was hit by a lorry. I think I need to watch that scene again though!

AwkwardArnottDentonFumble · 27/04/2021 17:39

Marking place to catch up - I saw the trailer for this a few weeks back and had forgotten! Looked good.

Oh. I need to rewatch that. I thought was her hit by lorry

Tho was a huge crash

Being stabbed in back would make more sense why paralysis
