I can’t stand Robin’s character…or her acting skills.

I always die inside when I know she’s going to feature heavily in a storyline.

I also agree about Faith’s hair - it looks awful.

The last episode was so dire I can’t actually remember what it was about, let alone make comments on it Confused

TrashyPanda · 20/03/2022 10:49

Another awful episode.
I can’t actually remember the last time I was mildly interested in an ep, far less gripped by the story.

Faiths hair was worse than last week. It looks like a wig you would buy for a kid dressing up.

Charlie looked like he’d escaped from the geriatric ward and spent most of his on-air time exchanging significant glances with Ethan. Given that Derek Thomson is notorious for being in able to keep eye contact for more than about 2 seconds, this was unintentionally hilarious.

I don’t care about Teddy. He’s been in it for ages, but doesn’t have a personality except for being Jan’s nephew. His mother treated him like he was about 8.

Yet another Casualty paramedic seriously injured/killed on the job.
So far I can remember:
Sandra Mute
Finn
Comfort
Nicki
Curtis
Josh
Jeff
Sam
Lev
Fenisha
Polly

Is it the most dangerous place in the world to be a paramedic?

EthelTheAardvark · 21/03/2022 09:28

Are we supposed to assume that Robyn has solved the pollution problem by convincing one councillor that it needs to be followed up? The scriptwriters do know that local politics don't work like that, don't they?

Optimist1 · 21/03/2022 11:44

I'm really questioning whether the BBC is axing the right medical drama with Holby City. Casualty has been tired for a few years and has now become downright tedious. It's not worthy of a prime-time Saturday night slot, IMHO.

PaddlingLikeADuck · 24/03/2022 07:12

The highlight of that episode was seeing a topless Teddy Grin

AnImaginaryCat · 26/03/2022 22:00

Do you think Mirror Hand was supposed to be robotic or was it bad acting? I can't worh anything out.

Optimist1 · 26/03/2022 22:29

Difficult to say, @AnImaginaryCat!
Stevie's hostility is mounting now, isn't it? Ethan and Matthew have both wronged her and I don't think she's one to forgive and forget.

TrashyPanda · 27/03/2022 09:18

The trouble with focussing eps on characters the audience doesn’t really know is that ultimately, they don’t actually care what happens to them. It’s mildly engaging at best.

Matthew is a cardboard cut-out type of character, with no real depth. He’s milled around in the background for ages, like part of the scenery. Then suddenly he’s thrust into the limelight.

Redemption of the receptionist. Don’t like him, so don’t care.

Stevie is a complex character, which is unusual for Casualty nowadays. Is she going to go over the edge and blow up the ED? If so, can Charlie be in it, please?

Faiths hair colour wasn’t so bad this week, but her fringe was really wonky.

PaddlingLikeADuck · 27/03/2022 10:42

I actually really liked Stevie last night.

I hated her when she first came into the show but over the last month or so I’ve really grown to like her.

What Matthew did to her was awful and I fully support her bringing him down!!!

AnImaginaryCat · 27/03/2022 11:59

Is Matthew more senior than Rash? Did think he was - but the bit where Matthew ask Rash if he wanted to come watch him being marvelous confused me.

TrashyPanda · 27/03/2022 12:04

Rash is such a sweet guy. I really like him and wish we saw more of him.

Given that Robin had made the astonishing discovery that pollution can make asthma worse, I’m uncertain as to how speed bumps outside a school will lessen air pollution? Funny how she didn’t twig that her driving her kid to school is actually adding to air pollution!

I want her to bring him down too!

Anyone else worried about the cows? Who is going to milk them?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 03/04/2022 09:18

Rash is such a sweet guy. I really like him and wish we saw more of him. He and Dylan are my favourite characters by far!

Furbaby2842 · 03/04/2022 09:36

Did I hear last night that Stevie and Matthew are on garden leave? So are they both finished from the show now?? And what happened to that random new F1 doctor who was in like 2 episodes and has never appeared since?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 03/04/2022 10:22

And what happened to that random new F1 doctor who was in like 2 episodes and has never appeared since? Wasn't the new F1 very briefly in it last night? Sure she said a couple of words?

TrashyPanda · 03/04/2022 11:05

@AnImaginaryCat

Me!

Thought last night was a lot better.

Except for the Ian storyline. His partner was introduced in the strange throwback ep, but we really haven’t seen much of them together to perceive them as a couple and be interested in their relationship.

Loved seeing Fletch with his Jac poster.
Would love him to come back to Casualty. He’s a really nice, compassionate character, who is good at his job. He would be much better as senior nurse than Charlie.

Speaking of whom, was there a hint in the Charlie/Fletch chat that C finally feels it’s his time to leave/retire?

Furbaby2842 · 03/04/2022 11:11

Was it the lady who kept saying she has to ask questions about Stevie and Matthew ? I thought I recognised her but couldn't work out who she was Hmm
NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 03/04/2022 11:28

I believe it was @Furbaby2842. I wonder if the BBC has cut the actors' salaries because they're certainly not centre-stage every week (or even every month) at the moment, are they?

And I'm totally confused about Ian, his relationship that came to an abrupt end last night, and then Faith randomly asking him if he wanted to go out for a drink?

TrashyPanda · 03/04/2022 12:34

I don’t think that was her.
You wouldnt have a newly qualified doc investigating more senior docs.

I thought she was an HR person.
She looked a lot older than new F1

AnImaginaryCat · 03/04/2022 13:38

Maybe the F1 is off doing more promo work?

I'd actually totally forgotten about her!!!

purpleme12 · 03/04/2022 22:13

No the new F1 wasn't in it last night
They said in the programme she's off cos her grandma died I'm sure
But in real life it's very strange that they introduced her and then she's not in it. They don't usually do that

I never did take to Chrissie and still am not impressed with her
I know they're real life partners but I'm not taken with them together at all on here and it disappoints me cos Ian's a big character that everyone loves normally.

DeckTheHallsWithGin · 10/04/2022 18:21

Anyone else think a social worker ought to be able to have a difficult conversation? He does seem very wet for a social worker!

spiderlight · 10/04/2022 20:08

He's hopeless! He and Marty aren't a very plausible couple either.

Furbaby2842 · 10/04/2022 21:16

Watched last night's episode on catch up today. Found it extremely dull tbh. Feel like it's just not what it used to be anymore!
