Evan Peters is only about 10 years younger than Kate Winslet so I don't think it's unbelievable that he'd be interested in her!

Yes, the scene with the son and Carrie stealing money was so good and explains a lot about Mare and why she is so unwilling to trust Carrie. Some things are hard to forgive. I read an article recently about how this show is really about the effects of the opioid crisis and its effects on communities, heartbreaking.

YY to Kate Winslet scrubbing up well. Imagine having to only brush your hair out and add lipstick to look like an utter film star!

I thought the baby's father could be Mark, the dodgy church deacon. The heart pendant that Mare found in Erin's dresser - could they be Bible references (the numbers on the heart)?

She didn't tell her friend it was Frank though, the friend inferred that from seeing Frank helping her out with the shopping those times.

Oh yes, it was just the friends theory! But a hunch says it’s him, it’s too obvious the Deacon would be the father.

I'm still wondering if the baby's colouring is significant. A little ginger-esque child among a bunch of dark-haired people. Who among them is ginger/fair? I too was liking the theory of it being Erin's father Sad but they set up this whole scene with the contrast of the ginger baby and everyone else... (I was also wondering if it was one of Erin's father's cousins but they're dark too.)

Also still thinking it will have to be someone we met/heard of in the first episode. Nobody new.

The babies colouring has been debated up thread ..... with the observation that Deacon2 (Mare's cousin) is a red head .... and the suggestion that Deacon1 with the dodgy past history is covering for him by throwing her bike in the canal......or maybe ... its an organised ring?

I'm starting to wonder if there aren't two separate killers/bad guys, since Erin's death didn't look similar to what happened to the other two girls. They were snatched after making an appointment with a client via the escort site and are now being kept prisoner, but haven't been killed. Erin had a profile on the same site, but we don't think she ever went through with it and never met anyone.

Maybe she was killed by the baby's father because she was threatening to expose him unless he paid for the surgery. She'd tried to get the money from Dylan but it was obvious he wasn't going to help, especially after the catfishing incident, and she couldn't bring herself to do escort work, so the only option is to go to the real father and ask him for the money, otherwise she tells all. He refuses, there's a fight/argument and he shoots her.

Was she shot? I thought t was just a fall? I must have missed a bit because I was even wondering if it was suicide or an accident? Was she sexually assaulted? I don't think she was?

I'm really enjoying it (would like recommendations for similar if anyone has any, binged 'the truth about the Harry Quebert affair' recently which was also fantastic). I know it sounds odd but I had no idea Zabel is Evan Peters. I know who he is but never watched anything he was in before, it just didn't click that its him. I thought it a bit strange when he asked her out too but it wasn't theirs ages necessarily- just felt weird to me! Excited to see what happens next and who baby's father is.

He might be the weirdo abducting girls and holding them hostage, though.
