The episode has disappeared! It was taken off from last Friday evening due to all the Philip TV coverage, and rescheduled for tonight. Now it’s completely disappeared!
I’ve been so looking forward to it both times. Anyone hazard a guess where it’s gone? I’ve checked schedules for this coming Friday and it’s series finished, compilation episodes from now on.

Dianetics is considered a pseudo-science in the medical profession. What you received may have been CBT, however, Scientology is run on dianetics not CBT.

I have seen John Sweeney’s Panorama interview, Lea Remini’s Scientology and the Aftermath, Going Clear, Louis Theroux and so forth. I believe Lea Remini and Mike Rinder. MR was still part of the organisation in the 2007 Panorama programme btw so I’ve seen him from both sides.

LR stated it takes $500k to go clear and TC is very high up in the organisation and speculation is he spent decidedly more than this to get so high up. There’s his children. So millions isn’t off the mark, no.

Katie Holmes reportedly went to extreme measures to keep Suri out of Scientology.

I see no evidence of loving and caring from the top. L Ron Hubbard is reported to have said prior to set up Scientology he wanted to create a religion as this is where the money is.

I watched TC on GN last night and was struck by how he seems at great pains to give the impression that the Mission Impossible cast were so close. He tried so hard to make it seem that he was such great friends with Miles Teller and Jennifer Connelly, making a comment (twice) at the end of their segment about how he must go to their homes for diinner. However, he clearly struggled with Miles' irreverent humour and it all seemed so fake.

Made be wonder if they all have iron clad contract clauses that they have to make out they are BFFs are filming and forevermore!

I saw TC on Graham Norton a couple of years ago around the release of 1 of the Mission impossible films. He had definitely had something (probably fillers) done as I was really distracted by it - he looked like a gerbil filling his cheeks!
Totally off topic but someone mentioned Jason Donovan earlier in the thread. He def takes himself way too seriously.

I’m not sure who it was (a famous person) but someone described Tom as being completely dead behind the eyes. He was smiling and very friendly etc but he was just wasn’t there at all.

If you can watch the Leah remini series, it’s brilliant she explains what happened at Tom and Katie’s wedding. The process is fascinating but absolutely bonkers the extremes these people go too.

The top guy in Scientology David Miscavage’s wife has not been seen in public for years. Leah has tried to open a missing persons case over it but has been shot down.

Tom Cruise has also tried to recruit several high profile people - Jennifer Lopez, the Beckhams etc

Off topic but Elizabeth moss from the handmaids tale who is bloody brilliant is also a Scientologist which is disappointing.

@Queenofbeebers It absolutely meets the criteria for a cult; I remember teaching Religious Studies a few years ago and there were criteria to be met as to whether a religion or whatever was to be classed as a New Religious Movement (NRM) or a cult. Interestingly, TC's own father had zero contact with him after his parents divorced; I think I remember reading that there was DV and his mother fled with the kids whilst his father was out of the house.

I listened to a podcast where Graham Norton was the guest being interviewed. He had some interesting things to say about Tom! Nothing bad, he was very diplomatic, but he said something along the lines of him always being "on"/always playing the role of the big movie star... As if he simply doesn't know how to be anything else, because he's had such dizzying heights of fame for most of his life.

So rings true and mimics what a lot of you are saying! The podcast is called The Blindboy Podcast if anyone is interested.

yeah he seems a bit odd but I love all his films and he is gorgeous, lovely smile, definitely got that certain something. I remember going to the cinema to watch Top Gun when it came out
