Ok, I've started a new one in anticipation of Thread 3 filling up tonight, part way through the episode!

He's got plenty of experience of being a murderous little shit and he's a key inside person keeping an eye on Jo and the AC12 investigation.

I honestly think that Chloe Bishop is too old to be Gates' daughter (and remember, Chloe was actually his youngest daughter, so she would have been, what, nine?), but as a PP pointed out, the way she is dressed in a maroon blazer and blue shirt (the same colour combination as Chloe Gates' school uniform) seems very deliberate...

Twist: Ryan’s dad is Buckells, he impregnated the mother while she was a suspect in a shop lifting case.

I do love these threads but sometimes find that the twists and theories you guys come up with turn out to be much better and more elaborate than the real thing, which can sometimes make it a bit of an anticlimax!

Blondes, I downloaded BBC sounds app, I think you need to register with BBC iPlayer. I listen to the Craig Parkinson podcast it's very good, on a Monday too. Go on Google for shrine of duty, that is updated every Wednesday.

Review the list @AwkwardArnottDentonFumble posted (fab username by the way ) along with a pp I think Jo is related to Robert Denmoor who was a balaclava man. Ted would remember vividly someone he shot dead - hence the mother of god comment. Only 7 more sleeps 😂

I've just been binge watching the first five series and I'm getting withdrawal symptoms because I can only watch the last few episodes of series 6 once a week!

Ok, assuming Jo DNA match is a man. That it links to someone else in the series and they are a nominal, suspected criminal. That they have been on the database before she joined the police force. Wondering if she is related to one of the names of abusers that was on the sandsview list. Could her mother have been one of the people who were abused in the children’s home?

@Bloodypunkrockers I think compared to deaths for non bame characters it is higher representation. I'm still upset about Maneet though !

I don’t think Chloe is bent, it would be too obvious. It would feel too similar to what happened with Jamie. But then maybe a double bluff?

I don’t think they’d have his DNA as he wasn’t ever arrested as he was too ill by then? I did think of him but ruled him out on that basis.

Ryan is out surely as his juvenile records were not available and he’s now police.

I’m sure there are more but there have been very few criminals who aren’t police.

Nick Huntley might have DNA on record, wasn't he suspected of being dodgy at one point? Can't remember if ever arrested though.

They’ve made a clear effort to include more BAME women in the last two series. off the top of my head, I can’t think very many others prior to series 5 & 6 (Roz Huntley & Rupal in series 4 aside).

So there were proportionally fewer BAME even dying in earlier series as fewer were cast overall.

The handful of BAME women killed across all six series doesn’t seem indicative of an ‘agenda’ to me, not in the context of the recent efforts at more diverse casting.

Yes. But I think that's too recent. From the conversation, it seemed like it's an historic nominal, not a recent one.

Oh yes, I forgot about Jamie! It would feel like retreading the same plot lines a bit if Chloe was dodge too.

Actually, he wasn't arrested until Roz set him up after having her arm amputated.
