They both have a 90,s boy band thing going on ,I can understand why they may have appealed to teenage girls,but as a late Forties mum of a teenage boy I can't help but worry about nick getting his too long sleeves caught in his soup 🤣

I missed most of last week and yesterday but, managed to catch today's episodes. I see Samantha is still wearing her pyjamas though, thankfully she added a crash helmet and finally left the street. Natalie's cat is a better actor. I thought Alec played his part in the downfall of Samantha really well ! He's a great character. Love Mike as well. That cheeky grin !

According to the Corrie fandom Wiki, it was originally supposed to be Curly, not Alec (hence all the action in Curly’s house without him there), but Kevin Kennedy had to have emergency stomach surgery.

I'm quite a bit behind here and I have a question! Les has just gone to visit Moira in Warrington and she's talking about Les moving on from Warrington to Wigan. So how did Greg get his southern accent? I'm sure they mentioned the Isle of Wight when he was first in it?

Aw Roy and Hayley it brought a tear to my eye 🤩,when Hayley got stopped because of her passport ,it got me wandering did she travel to Amsterdam as a male ,as surely she would have been stopped going too?

I think Les and Moira met on holiday on the Isle of Wight. I don’t know where Greg’s accent came from - I think the producers wanted Stephen Billington more than they ww a Northern actor! 😁

Why did Samantha suddenly turn into an evil lying psycho who stole cats and split up families? Prior to that she was a decent sort, didn’t suffer fools but was a genuinely nice person and what makes it worse is she just drove off onto the sunset and there was no explanation at all for her totally out of character behaviour, I found the storyline utterly bizarre! It’s like she had been swapped with her evil twin!

x2boys I was wondering that as well about Hayley's passport & travelling. Roy and Hayley are lovely together despite Roy's awkwardness - Roy's showing his caring side in 2021 with Nina.

I reckon they were pissed off that Tina Hobley quit, so decided to destroy the character on the way out.

If that's why then it backfired ! Just makes the scriptwriters at the time seem lax and unprofessional.

It really didn’t work as a plot. One minute Natalie was convinced Samantha was a scheming harpy; the next, all Samantha had to do was a couple of big-eyed simpers for Natalie to be totally convinced again. And would Sally really have stormed off to Rita’s without even confronting Kevin, on the word of someone she knew was cheating on her fiancé only weeks before?

I think they had tried to go in another direction with Sam,Femme fatale,etc but she couldn't really pull it off as she was a shit actress ?

I never realised at the time what a terrible actress played Samantha. Spider is looking great apart from the suit ! Maud is an absolute legend. I'd love to have someone like her for advice and a no nonsense chat.

I've just had a marathon binge watch of all my recordings of ten hours of Classic Corrie, and caught up to yesterday (Friday 4th)

Well done Maud for going into the lion's den and giving big Jim a beautiful 'tough love' lecture. He was so nasty to her, but she absolutely knew what she was doing, didn't she? I ❤ Maud. She reminds me of strong, no nonsense women from my own family!

I was a bit surprised to see that Rita still had her court shoes on when she finally collapsed on her living-room floor!

If I'd been feeling as ropey as she was, I'd have kicked my shoes off as soon as I got home and sat down!

Unless she was still thinking she'd be going over to The Rovers for that birthday drink with Sally, when she felt a bit better

And, if I'd been Leanne, downstairs in the shop, and got that phone call from Rita - who really sounded like she was at death's door, I don't think I'd have just blithely taken Rita at her word, and just shut up shop and gone home!

I'd have been worried!!
