Anyone watch the Big Soap Quiz? Jane Danson said she’d been watching classic Corrie (and emmerdale) to prep for the quiz!

I often wondered whether Jane, Barbara Knox, Sue Nichols, Helen Worth et al watch Classic Corrie. They’d probably have to record it, I think that filming days are quite long.

I’m not enjoying what they did to Jim’s character in recent years. He was bad-tempered but never cruel or grasping - that Katie/hoax storyline was unrealistic. I stopped watching at that point.

I always liked jim so i did.
I wonder if people who aren't around now like Ashley watch it sadly.

I’m also loving Classic Corrie. I gave up watching sometime before the tram crash but saw snippets when staying with PIL. It has totally lost what used to make it special.

It has gained a bizarre fascination.

Funny how much hopeless a single bloke is being with kids when he looked after them equally before. Wasn’t like he never did. If he had died everyone would be moaning at his wife pull her sock socks up. Nothings changed in 20y.

Scandalous that in 20y the benefits only gone up £1 a week. The cost of living has gone way way over that.

Their house is the worst going it looks like some sort of hovel from the 1880s. Cooker in corner no where kids sit in the floor safely. It’s not even any better today. Why they never made the back room kitchen and then front room as living room.

Yeah I always wondered that ,and why do they all sit in that uncomfortable room with the table etc surely the front room would be more comfortable

I think it’s only house now thats without a kitchen extension. I mean everyone else has half decent house and deco.

I read that the producers had intended her as a long-term character, but Tracie Bennett didn’t want to commit as she had worked quite a bit in the US, and had to spend a certain amount of time there each year to retain a Green Card.

I think a lot use the front room as a bedroom if only 2 upstairs. That's what I've assumed anyway.

Yeah I'm really not seeing what Gail's problem is with Sarah -Lou ,yes she's being a bit in thoughtful but par for the course I would think at 13 , Oh dear Gail wait untill you find out she's pregnant!

Clearly the schedulers think that more viewers will watch Carry On films than Classic Corrie. I can’t see it myself.

If they had to interrupt 1999 Classic for the festive season, they could’ve shown old Christmas episodes or something.
