I felt quite sad to see the old café go. It was a proper remnant of 80s Corrie. I see Roy was advertising curry as the dish of the day - 22 years on, he still is, and no one has ever ordered it

I always thought the old cafe was trashed in the old tram crash that I missed. Not that cafe was so far off Main Street. It hasn’t changed ages in 20y including the menu sign or the equipment. That’s most I’ve seen Roy shout or rush about!

It’s easier forget that even in 2000 not everyone had mobile phone and how things have changed.

Yes, I noticed Roy was very shouty today! You wouldn’t see modern day Roy doing that!

I read that the change in café location was because they used to use a real building for the frontage (which is why you saw it so rarely - a pain to film on location). Once they had the Victoria Street set, they could make the café a permanent set. The flats in the quays are replaced by Victoria Court a few years later for the same reason.

I like the fact that we’re in February now and the café move was mooted as far back as November. These days they’d get an offer on the old one in Monday’s episode, close it on Wednesday and have the new one up and running on Friday!

Yes stories seem slow ish still but we are going triple speed? So 10 a week not 5?
Today’s was really good mix of drama but everyday day. Not crazy story lines.

The old cafe, s location didnt make sense in my head plus how did they get in the flat?
You could go through the cafe, but they once showed it had an out door entrance, so did the flat have two doors?

I presume there was supposed to be a corridor at the top of the stairs; café entrance at one end, street entrance at the other.

I feel like the last genuinely classic moment was Hayley’s death. I remember I was starting a new job that day, and I think I was genuinely more stressed at the prospect of Hayley dying

Yes i agree i mean its not like hes lived on the street for years and gradually had an affair which would still be stupid but a bit more realistic, he could have gone for a land lady in another pub in weatherfield not just across the road.
