New thread... really hope the title doesn’t offend anyone! I actually really admire how sensitively the story was handled!

Anyway... Corrie in 1998.

Apparently Corrie had come under pressure from ITV to introduce a gay character, so one of the writers suggested Hayley’s storyline as a way to break new ground rather than ‘catching up’ with other soaps.

Was there only one episode today, or has my recording got lost?

There was an hour and a half of Emmerdale instead of the usual hour today. Don’t know why nothing exciting happened in the hour long episode

David Hanson must have had a thing about the late 70s/early 80s - bringing back Blanche, Sharon and Eunice within weeks!

I think Sally must have visited the same stylist as Vicky's fringe the other week. Shocking cut!

Vicky had naturally beautiful curly hair. It looked awful in the Christmas episodes. If was good to see the character again though, even if it signalled the brilliant Alec’s departure. I liked Vicky and thought Chloe Newsome was great at portraying her. I wish they’d both stayed!

Blanche is one of my all time favourites.

They do a corrie special featuring vicky in Brighton, and steve looks her up its on you tube, i think lots of other late teens, early twenties off spring of Steve and his Ex, s should turn up on the cobbles i think it would be a great story line 🤣

Blanche - she is so good. The dialogue between her and Dierdre is excellent.

They should have used a man to portray Hayley, that would have had more impact.

Me neither @KarenofSparta i really enjoy my two episodes of classic corrie /day i wish ITV 3 would stop messing around with them

I like watching the 2 recorded eps in the evening too. After skipping the ads it’s only 40 mins as it is! One episode isn’t enough.

At least they’re not messing around with them on Monday. Bank holidays are usually Carry-On-On-Repeat days.

I honestly don’t remember Ralf Little being in Corrie - yet these episodes came after the first series of The Royle Family, which I loved.

The scene with Walter and Martin had me shedding a tear I've worked in nursing homes and stories like that are all too familiar.

I’ve no idea what happens Sally’s kids but when soaps constantly say “the kids nearly always go to the mother” you know it’s not going end well!
