New thread... really hope the title doesn’t offend anyone! I actually really admire how sensitively the story was handled!

Anyway... Corrie in 1998.

You know it’s on the ITV hub look for classic Corrie. They have the last 40 or so. I thought today’s was very good and dramatic but still a long real life story played out. Unlike today’s.

I remember the Anne Malone story line very well
Sally just isn't getting it is she?
Why would Michael be interested in Liz, they make out like she's come kind of femme fatale 🤔

Men on Corrie couldn't avoid an affair with Liz, could they. Steve have the same effect on women.
Sally also tended to be attracted to any random man.

Yes weird, particularly Steve, whilst I probably would have fancied him twenty years ago, he hasnt aged well has he? I mean neither have I but I'm not a soap star who everybody apparently falls in love with 😂

You can watch itv hub abroad. You have to subscribe for about £3 a month. The bonus is you miss the adverts too. How do watch itv abroad?

Steve didn’t marry Fiona - his first marriage was to Vicky Arden (Alec’s granddaughter), which ended about two years ago in Classic Corrie time (so 1996 in real life). The second one is a few years away yet.

Anne Malone's accent has totally changed, hasn't it?? I am enjoying this storyline. It's still the old fashioned Corrie panto baddie type storyline, although I think we are close to it becoming more like real life.

SmileMy flatmate had a top in that colour back in 1998/99. I remember borrowing it. Natalie’s old house is very 1990s too. Loving the David Beckham picture on the factory wall also.

Not sure re Mike’s behaviour towards Hayley. He has lots of faults but he’s never struck me as a spiteful character (unless Ken is involved!)

I’d almost forgotten about Linda Sykes.

I noticed yesterday that Linda mentioned a husband… he gets forgotten pretty quickly. She’s also quite different in her later appearances (when they basically turn her into Tina Dingle Grin)

I suppose getting married so young takes away all the 'living' that most single people do in their twenties.

So they start to get itchy feet once they hit their thirties, and try to recapture everything they feel they've missed out on.

Hope that makes sense!
