PSA.

Back on Wednesday 7.4.21.

I’ve been watching online. It’s an absolute belter of a season back on top form. Can’t wait to watch again.

OP posts:

@KFleming

Ah see I don't watch them live so I didn't know that

So when episodes 7 come out do I watch Greys first?

It's annoying as it was clear from the start of Greys that I'd got them in the wrong order!

@HeyGirlHeyBoy I like Greys and there is quite a lot of crossover now especially this week

ElderMillennial · 08/05/2021 09:20

@HeyGirlHeyBoy Sorry I meant to say I like Station 19. I like watching both

KFleming · 08/05/2021 09:28

@ElderMillennial yeah if you look at the original air dates in America, you can see that they are a week out from ours. So they had station 19 ep 5 (kidnapped girls trapped in the house) on the same day as greys ep 6 (which continued that kidnapped girls storyline). We had them a week apart and had both episode 6s on the same day. So the greys episodes come before the station 19 episodes of the same number.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 08/05/2021 09:46

I just watched the station 19 episode to find out what happened with DeLuca. You really do need to see it or next week's Grey's will not make sense.

ElderMillennial · 08/05/2021 10:01

Thanks @KFleming

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 08/05/2021 10:27

Sugar. OK I will sky plus it.

Papergirl1968 · 08/05/2021 23:06

Don't read the thread called Station 19/Grey's if you don't want to see a bloody huge spoiler about the next episode of Grey's...

AngeloMysterioso · 08/05/2021 23:22

We’re quite a few weeks behind I think. I know about something that hasn’t happened yet because Ellen Pompeo posted about it on Instagram after it aired in the US about a month ago.

ElderMillennial · 09/05/2021 07:06

Thanks @Papergirl1968

I might know what you're talking about as I think I read it

KFleming · 09/05/2021 09:08

Yeah I think I know as well. It’s annoying that greys is shown so much later here than in the US. Other shows don’t have this big gap.

I hate crossovers for this very reason! Angry
MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 09/05/2021 14:55

Tbh I quite enjoyed it. But I feel manipulated at the same time.

ElderMillennial · 09/05/2021 15:04

I don't mind it as I just see it as more Greys but it's annoying when you don't know how crucial the crossover episodes are or the orders!

KFleming · 11/05/2021 11:22

I see they’ve just announced this has been renewed for season 18.
I’m quite glad, because although I do think it should probably end soon, I assume they’ve finished filming season 17, and when it does end I’d quite like them to write and film the last episode knowing it’s the last episode, so they can do a good ending. I wouldn’t want to have watched it for years and then they end on a cliff hanger and then don’t get a new season!

covetingthepreciousthings · 11/05/2021 18:55

I was a bit surprised to see it renewed for S18 if I'm completely honest, with the scenes with Derek, George etc.. it's very much felt like a last series.. but then I'd hope they could film a final series without it being surrounded by Covid storylines.

I'd love to see Yang come back for the final, and Arizona / Callie too.

I love Greys, but I do think perhaps S18 should be the final and round it all up nicely.

MrsCaptainJakeBallard · 11/05/2021 21:30

I'm very surprised to see it renewed too. I'm at Us pace so further on than the UK (no spoilers I promise Grin) but feel like it's tying things up already. And like pp said seeing people again feels final seasony to me. It'll be interesting to see how they take it next season but as much as I love greys I agree it should be the last.

Papergirl1968 · 11/05/2021 22:04

Shonda was quoted as saying that she and Ellen Pompeo have a pact - as long as Ellen wants to do it, the show will keep going. Ellen was the first to sign up for S18, followed by the actors who play Bailey and Webber.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 11/05/2021 22:08

Oh god.... Don't know if that pact's a good idea! I would like one super season tho..

KFleming · 12/05/2021 07:17

I know they’ve said that definitely it will end when Ellen wants to leave (as an aside I think I’d find that a bit stressful as a main character, knowing that if I said I was leaving, all the other actors etc would be out of a job). But obviously there’s a chance it might just not get renewed, regardless of Ellen wanting to do it.
MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 12/05/2021 09:27

If I was paid what she's paid, I'd never quit!

CallieTorres · 12/05/2021 10:48

@MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously

If I was paid what she's paid, I'd never quit!
and when you're so well known for a role, would be hard for her to not be MG
Papergirl1968 · 12/05/2021 18:43

There's something to be said for a regular income, job security, and filming in one city, especially if you've got kids, even if you do get somewhat typecast.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 12/05/2021 20:35

I hate the crossover with Station 19. I have no desire to watch a programme which may involve fire/ firefighting as I have a phobia of fire, but I keep reading that there are storylines in it which I need to see for Grey's to make sense. There have been Grey's episodes (I'm watching at US pace) where I have got a bit confused and thought I must have missed an episode, or forgotten something which happened.

I think I've only really felt like that this series.

I watch both, started watching station 19 about a year ago & never felt I needed to watch both whereas this season I would say you do. Not great if you don't want to watch both.

OnceUponAThread · 12/05/2021 21:01

I so don't want to start watching Station 19. How annoying. Is there a website where I can just find out what I need to know about the Station 19 ep but without any of Grey's spoilers.
