Grin Raahh I’m rubbish at dancing as well! Don’t think Wimbledon is ready for dancing strawberries yet!

Yes Rafa probably forgot about his socks (he’s probably still having nightmares about it) - I’m sure that roger does have monogrammed trunks (gold embroidery) and a matching robe Grin

kazzaD66 · 27/04/2021 14:47

We could all go to Wimbledon dressed as Bob the Builder, in homage to Tim Grin
If I get to see free matches and am paid in kind - strawberries and Pimms on tap - it's a price worth paying Wink

JaneJeffer · 27/04/2021 15:05

I think I'm too claustrophobic to dress in one of those outfits but I'm willing to serve the refreshments dressed like an usherette if it means free Wimbledon.

Bob the builder

Grin

We could go international- what mascot would be good for RG?
I could disguise myself as one on Rafa's bottles...

JaneJeffer · 27/04/2021 15:17

A croissant?

Jane that croissant is scaryGrin.

kazzaD66 · 27/04/2021 15:32

Jane Grin
I have no idea where you find these things from......Hmm

Raahh Rafa's bottle? So he can keep picking you up/lining you up/fiddling with you? Blush
You get the picture WinkGrin

Raahh · 27/04/2021 15:37

kazza something like that Grin

I nearly put Rafa's ball and thought better of itGrin

I've just seen that Wimbledon have announced that play will happen on the middle Sunday this year- and as of next year, that will be a permanent thing.

JaneJeffer · 27/04/2021 16:53

Won't they get ahead of themselves if there's no rain?

OP posts:
Raahh · 27/04/2021 16:57

Jane I did wonder- but apparently the idea is to prevent 'Manic Monday' traditionally the Round of 16- which will be spread over 2 days, instead of them trying to pack it all in one.

JaneJeffer · 27/04/2021 17:00

I like manic Monday but maybe this way we'll get to see more matches instead of having to choose and can let the whole house go even more to pot as there's no day to do anything Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 27/04/2021 17:06

Jane no, there will be no day for me to half heartedly do stuff whilst moaning about the lack of tennis. Grin.

I hope it's not the end of the blockbuster/early evening matches though if everything is more spread out. But with the British weather as it is- it will probably rain now, on the Middle Sunday Grin.

That croissant looks like a prawn Grin - it’s more scary than Goody!

Ooh that’s interesting about Wimbledon - I usually feel bereft on that Sunday so think it will be quite good - the grass won’t get any rest though (I’m sure Tim can sort it out with a bit of grass seed!)

kazzaD66 · 27/04/2021 17:37

Yes, I've just seen the Wimbledon announcement aswell. Apparently, you can get a better quality of grass these days (or something like that, I'm clearly paraphrasing!) which means the grass no longer needs a breather on the middle Sunday, so all good! (More paraphrasing!) Grin
Wimbledon are also hoping for at least 25% capacity, I think they said.

Raahh · 27/04/2021 17:54

Yes, kazza, clearly there's a lot of technology around the right grass. Grin
Fizzy Tim will have been working very hard, mowing the courts himself. He's a man of many hard-hats.

Fizzywinegum · 27/04/2021 18:14

kazza you sound like an expert - are you secretly Tim? Smile

kazzaD66 · 27/04/2021 18:26

Sadly not.
I wouldn't mind having his tennis talent, his money and his Wimbledon membership, though Grin

JaneJeffer · 27/04/2021 21:09

The chances of getting your hands on bank manager Tim's money are zero.

I've just seen that Djok has withdrawn from Madrid.
There were rumours weeks ago that he wouldn't play there anyway.

Not sure why- but maybe he doesn't want an expected loss, 3 tournaments in a row...
