Noticed the last thread is almost full

Hopefully not an April Fool's!

I can't believe it's April!!

it will soon be Christmas

(And I'm not joking- it's my 50th on December 30th- had my mum and sister discussing my birthday present yesterday!!)

They are very organised. My IL's had me tormented asking my plans months before DH was 50. Plans? I thought they would know me better after all these years.

I hadn't really planned to do anything- I don't do birthdays. Dh and I go out for a meal and I'm usually at home asleep before 9pm . Didn't do anything for my 40th, either. But my mum wanted to take me away last year because I had such a rubbish year, the year before. That didn't happen, obviously- so she mentioned it to my sister and it snowballed a bit.
I've left them to it .

I can't even remember my 50th and it was only two years ago! Or twenty in Covid years.

'Covid years' are odd.
On the one hand, the last year has lasted 20 million years.

And gone by in a flash.

It is really odd. .

Found you all! I seem to have lost all track of time, tennis and everything really (it doesn’t seem that long since we wee talking about Jesus of Nazareth )

Jane it might have been.

I was fooled by one on a FB group I am on for people with stomas (dd2 has one). It was about making your own stoma bags. Actual bags not just covers. It looked really good(!) and plausible. . 10 year old dd2 wasn't fooled at all and thinks I'm nuts .

If 'The Robe' isn't on, I might sulk, Jane.

I might have to go to visit my mum tomorrow. Her village, a couple of miles up the road(recently in the news due to their councillor having no authority in a zoom meeting ) are doing 'a scarecrow trail'. My mother has done a Wizard of Oz scene. She just sent me a picture. The lion looks looks real, and the scarecrow looks like something out a horror film .

That sounds great.

They have put a lot of effort into it. I'm glad I don't live next to it- it will scare small children.

Next door have apparently done 'Room on the Broom' and the Witch is about 8ft tall .

I think lockdown has got to them all.

Blimey- I took my eye off the tennis score- Stefanos was winning the first set comfortably.

But has ended up losing the match in 3 sets!

On the plus side, Evans and Skupsi are in the doubles final.
I really need to try to find the time to watch some tennis

kazza I keep thinking the same- I have really struggled to find the time this week. Not sure why though!

Raahh was your DM at THAT council meeting? The scarecrows sound quite scary!

I think I’ve been in a bit of a fog since my Covid jab last week - the Miami Open seems to have been going on forever and I’m not quite sure who’s still in it

I’m looking forward to the Easter weekend - eating chocolate and watching religious films

I didn’t really understand the non April fools day but I love the colours in the picture - makes me want to go on holiday

Fizzy she wasn't, they'd never have her but she does know some of the people on the council

The 'clay' colours in the Rafa picture do make me feel quite 'warm'. and summery.

I do hope the clay season goes ahead. France going into lockdown again, and the slow vaccine rollout, makes me nervous.

I know tennis is not important in the scheme of things, but I feel like I need to cling to the hope that things will get back to normal.

The Robe I hope it's on at some point! Sound of Music is on tomorrow afternoon I noticed!

I've been watching a bit of Miami but mostly the women's draw - I don't know if the men's matches are being played later so I keep missing them or something. Anyway. What I've seen of the women's has been good. Ash Barty has been playing well.

Also I'm confused because they play different rounds on the same day - I think anyway?! Or is it just a time difference thing? I'm too confused to even work it out

Oh yes Spidey the sound of music is the perfect good Friday film - it’s on for hours!

I too am a bit worried about the french Open Raahh - hope things get sorted out there soon

Evo and Skupski are going great guns in the doubles, they’ve beaten some top quality players.

Dan is the boss of the team, he is so passionate and fired up. Has great hands at the net too.

I hope they stick together as a pairing, they’ve got something special. I see Leon was watching as well, good to have Davis Cup options.

I think Neal only teamed up with Dan because his brother, who he won the title with in Mexico, is injured. And I'm not sure Dan will want to play doubles at the Grand Slams, for example, because he'll no doubt want to try to concentrate on the singles - even though he's clearly doing better in the doubles at the moment!! Either way, I really want to watch the final if I can because I do like the way Dan plays.
