Grace is a detective. Written by Peter James, there are 15 books in the series I think and I have read them all.
Can’t wait to see this TV adaptation.

The books are good. They go into things in more detail, give you more info on Grace's back story etc.

I don't think 2hrs in a tv format is enough time. I'm also struggling with a few of the characters as they aren't how I would say they are described in the books or how I imagined them to be.

Dead Mans Footsteps (the last one) was a bit weird. They changed a fair bit which I'm not sure translated quite as well. Originally Ronnie was "Killed" in 9/11 and the body of his wife found in Australia IIRC. It made a bit more sense than aircraft being bombed.

I understand why it was done, a 9/11 storyline would have been emotive and tricky to do and budgets don't stretch to the Australian Outback, but I do think they let that one down a bit.

If they are following the order the next one should be Dead Like You and feature 'The Shoe Man'. It's a simpler tale so shouldn't stray too far from the book.

No you’re right, I’m a book ahead. Dead Tomorrow is the missing one, the shoe man, Dead Like You will be the first in season three I presume.

Where did mum get the £200k from? It was clear.

Overall I enjoyed! And kharna at the Ed's re Noah I suppose.

I think she said something about re mortgaging the house to her ex husband

Bit of a Karma ending re the transplant for the young girl, whose mother tried the buy a kidney.

Also how easy is it to get a remortgage of £200K unless you are a high net worth person - which I didn't get the feeling the mother was? 🌹

This was the best one I think, but it's stretching the imagination a bit too far to think they can get test results so quickly from a donor to be able to match it up to someone who needs a liver/kidney/ anything .!!

It was a nice twist that Callie would be receiving an organ donation from Noah !

i did feel for her mum. You would do anything to save your own daughter even at expense of someone’s else’s child

in the triplets book which is the only one I think I’ve read

his friend saw her abroAd and he went to see if could find her

but sure didn’t do that in the series

I didn't like the mum being led away by the police as her daughter went off for her legal transplant. The mother wasn't a threat so they could have let her have 24 hours by her daughter's side couldn't they?

Poor old Cleo! I don't actually understand why Sandy is missing but honestly he shouldn't have contacted Cleo so soon even though he thought he was over his wife. Silly timing of the phone call saying someone had spotted her literally seconds after he told Cleo he was going to have Sandy declared officially dead!

Tech mum tried to buy an organ which is illegal

in the tv show, Grace comes over as much more "rigid" in his ways than in the book. Oblivious to others feelings. And Cleo comes across very upfront at showing intrerest here.

So far the books and tv show are the same for the Sandy back story.

The transplant timing all seemed a bit quick, i'd expect quite a bit of -pre-prep for organ donation, not just "don't eat" but i suppose as on NHS list she was doing that anyway. Remortages don't take 24 hours and do they actually let you remortgage and just give you the cash? don't you usually have to show you are doing something productive with it? (buying livers not counting)

So the books don’t reveal why she went or if Alive or dead

The storyline does resolve later down the line, I want to say it's about book ten.
