The chances of two NI-rared PSNI officers serving in the same unit having good enough Irish to be able to hold a reasonably complex conversation must be very slim indeed.

I have a few NI friends, they say they don't really speak Irish because they only learnt it at school but didn't speak it at home. So I assume their spoken Irish is about as good as my spoken French (not good enough to hold a conversation but I can ask for directions to the post office ).

I didn't really get the point of them having the conversation in Irish. They weren't being recorded, so was she worried that someone could be lip-reading through the observation window or something?? It made no sense (like much of the series).

I did enjoy the scenery though.

I didn't understand why they were speaking Irish either if they weren't being recorded.

She looked up at the cctv before speaking to him so obviously concerned about someone watching or recording. But speaking in Irish meant there was much less chance of being understood quickly.

I see James Nesbitt has turned up in Line of Duty. Well, a photo of him has.

First episode was watchable and possibly second - then when he called Adam - that was it for me. What a horrible character Tom Brannick was and couldn’t stand the facial expressions that James N pulled....

I haven’t been on the LoD thread in case of spoilers but I will be so disappointed if James Nesbitt is the final H!
