I'm watching, I remember it from the time as well, an awful story. I read that after she was recovered she went to foster care and didn't return to her family. Hopefully she has gone on to have a much better life than her early years, poor girl.

I would hope any more children would be instantly removed but unfortunately doesn't always work quite like that.

I think of Shannon Matthews often and I hope she has a lovely life now, her brothers and sisters too.

It was all so very strange.

It is just so wrong they are allowed to even make this programme. It must be uncomfortable for Shannon at the least and is potentially re-traumatising. She may well not want people to know it was her. I just can't imagine what it must be like having the child abuse you experienced put out there for everybody to watch for entertainment.

They said they searched 14 houses that were linked to the family , but they never searched the uncles house otherwise they’d have found her

I’d imagine If Shannon is watching then it must dredge it up all over again 😞
