Is anyone watching this on c5 shortly? I'm fascinated by how brazen her Mother was. Poor, poor child :(

Look at her on camera. Just pure emptiness in her eyes.

I feel sorry for her best friend Megan too. She still looks so sad about losing her best friend.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 10/02/2021 22:04

KM looks so young & she keeps smirking.

KittensTeaAndCake · 10/02/2021 22:08

Yes stop smirking you horrible woman.
It seems so obvious she's hiding something but I don't remember being suspicious at the time though.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 10/02/2021 22:09

Shannon matthews a mother’s story is worth a watch
Julie bushby is on it saying she visited her every month in prison wanting answers but never got any .. the main one being why ?
That’s another channel 5 one ... they’re obsessed

TurquoiseDress · 10/02/2021 22:11

I'm watching this now, I feel so sorry for her best friend Megan...you can see as she's being interviewed how deeply it all affected her & still does

And of course poor Shannon herself

Sad
Pebbledashery · 10/02/2021 22:11

Did anyone watch The Moorside with Sheridan Smith. That was pretty good too.

Oh I’ve not watched will watch it tomorrow. I was reading about it today in the paper today the 2 detectives that found Shannon . One said when they took Shannon’s mum back to prison she was in a hurry to get back and the detective said what you in a rush for and she said it’s chilli tonight my favourite, no asking how Shannon was or anything.
Some people really are pure evil .

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 10/02/2021 22:13

I wonder if Madeline will ever be found

DanceLikeAdamAnt · 10/02/2021 22:14

I watched this documentary, is it on netflix? I can't remember where I saw it now. Poor Shannon.

I think her mother was desperately seeking validation and attention and didn't have a high IQ.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 10/02/2021 22:16

Tickling the journalist !! Oh my god

DanceLikeAdamAnt · 10/02/2021 22:16

I think her mother saw the attention that Gerry and Kate McCann got and wanted all of that. It was not that long after Madeleine had gone missing.

toocold54 · 10/02/2021 22:21

Yes stop smirking you horrible woman.

I watched a documentary not long ago where detectives would read body language and they could tell all of the people who were lying as they had a smirk on their face even if it was a small quick one. There was a mother who killed her DC and she tried putting on the sad face and then had a massive smirk at the end.

Pebbledashery · 10/02/2021 22:21

Her mum just wanted £ that's the long and short of it.

KittensTeaAndCake · 10/02/2021 22:24

The Sheridan Smith drama was very good.
Yes she just wanted the money, evil bitch.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 10/02/2021 22:27

So why did the neighbour take so long to say he’d SEEN Shannon on Mick Donovan’s lap ??

Keeping2ChevronsApart · 10/02/2021 22:27

Almost certain I saw her in a pub in Hawes, Yorkshire a couple of years ago. I couldn't help listening in! She was with a younger man who said something along the lines of 'people are upset because you haven't said you're sorry' He wasn't a partner, more like a social worker. I'd love to have stayed but we had to get back to our caravan before the rain started!

Pebbledashery · 10/02/2021 22:28

I wonder what her prison time was like. How is she even out of prison already.

Livelovebehappy · 10/02/2021 22:30

Her behaviour was bizarre from the off. I remember at the time thinking there was something odd about how she was behaving at the press conferences and interviews. Same feeling I got when watching the Philpott press conference - the guy who set fire to his house killing his kids.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 10/02/2021 22:30

@pebbledashery
The other one on channel 5 , a mother’s story , Julie said she had bruises on her face , so the other prisoners have obviously been giving her a slap

KittensTeaAndCake · 10/02/2021 22:33

I'd give her a bloody good slap 🤬

Mrgrinch · 10/02/2021 22:39

What side was this on? Would like to watch it tomorrow on iPlayer if possible. I remember the case, so chilling.

TaighNamGastaOrt · 10/02/2021 22:40

A pp said wonder where she is now...the Sun or similar posts photos of Karen occasionally. She's got black hair now, they post photos but aren't allowed to say where she lives now. when she got engaged, there were loads of pictures of them.
I do feel for Shannon and her siblings, they were all put in foster care, I hope they all had a good life. I wonder if now she's an adult, Shannon will ever talk about it? Maybe a book?
Julie Bushby was amazing, she really tried so hard.
I liked the Moorside, Sheridan Smith was good in it.

TaighNamGastaOrt · 10/02/2021 22:41

Part 2 on tomorrow night.

Ginfordinner · 10/02/2021 22:41

How are that many paedophiles allowed to live near schools? Something wrong with the system, Jesus.

Our local Facebook page has gone viral because a paedophile has just moved to the nearest town, and is living in the same road as a primary school.

One of my friends was a social worker on Shannon Matthew's case. She says that they all knew something fishy was going on right from the beginning, as Karen Matthews was already known to them.
