Did anyone else hear the news today that Frank Mills who played Billy Williams has died? That’s 3 ex cast members we’ve lost already this year Sad

Sad to hear of all the ex cast members who have recently passed away Sad. RIP.

I thought that Tim had gone into Yasmeen's house at the end of Friday's episode and said that Geoff had left everything to him, but it seemed like a surprise today for Alya/Yasmeen/Elaine. What have I missed?

They could at least have cleaned Johnny’s disgusting nose! It looks like he’s had a burger and spread ketchup all over his face. Urgh.

That bloke in prison with the man bun going on, the one bothering Johnny, reminds me a bit of Darius

Yes! I was trying to think who he reminded me of.

So we've got Marc Almond (Simon's drug dealer handler)
Annie Lennox (Debbie Webster)
Darius (prison nasty)

Enough to start a singing trio.

I hate when people are written out of character. Alya would never have taken her anger at Geoff's will out on Tim like that. Just not her style.

Nor Yasmeen's but that could have been explained away by her emotional state.

I think Yasmeen is going to refuse the money

I missed the very end as the baby was crying, did they do a tribute to Johnny Briggs?

I think Yasmeen is going to refuse the money

Of course she will. She’s doing my bloody head in with all this stupidity.

Roussette · 01/03/2021 21:11

They said at the beginning it was a tribute to Jonny Briggs, don't think I saw anything at the end, but I turned over as it was finishing

If Yasmeen won't take it Tim needs to give it to Alya and she should became Power of Attorney for Yasmeen so she can pay off the debts.

Sorted!

Simon could no sooner deal drugs than Sam deal Haribos in the playground.
Yasmeen and her daft pride.
It's all bats. (Nod to Nina and Roy and his sarnies/flask).
Both episodes were dedicated to Johnny Briggs.
And Daisy's right - Jenny should just move on.

I agree. That bit really bugged me.
(well it all really bugs me nowadays!)

Daisy has some sort of agenda there, though - and Jenny's marriage is nothing to do with her, Jenny would tell her so in real life.

Report
UhtredRagnarson · 01/03/2021 22:50

I think it’s been obvious that daisy arrived with an agenda. They might as well have put a sign round her neck saying “I’m up to no good” I’m amazed the writers have restrained themselves so well in not revealing her secret (not a spoiler- I just assume there is one) on week two. They usually want all stories wrapped up in 3 episodes.

Btw is uncle Ronnie gone and forgotten now?

I actually thought the scene between Leanne and Simon was well done, I do feel sorry for him, he’s not had it easy our Si.

Report
eatsleepread · 02/03/2021 01:39

I didn't think it was well done at all because, as usual, Leanne lost her rag and fucked up her handling of the situation.
Hopefully she'll come good and actually help Simon out of this.

Report
ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 02/03/2021 02:16

When I say well done I mean it was a good well written scene between the two actors, I felt for Simon and the strain on his young shoulders. Leanne fucks everything up it’s her default position but she will come good, I think this drug dealing will be a catalyst for her.

Yes, agree on Daisy. I think she wants the pub, with or without Jenny.

I just don't understand why Jenny puts up with Daisy slagging off her husband.

I agree, the scene between Leanne and Simon was well acted, I think we've missed good acting so much, we are noticing it! I wonder how much Si is in hock for. It is a bit all new head Todd though isn't it. He owed drug dealers or was dealing himself.
Groundhog day

Note to Corrie writers - can we now please leave off on storylines about drug dealing, it's boring Grin

Report
Clawdy · 02/03/2021 08:22

Yes, it was a better episode last night. And at least they haven't dragged out the Sam-Simon story for ages as they often do, I thought we might be in for weeks of Sam's behaviour getting worse, Simon threatening him, Nick trying to find out the cause.......it's what they do too much at the moment, so that was a relief.
