Feel sorry for Yasmin obviously but she owns half the business she doesn’t want sell. Huge house she doesn’t want sell and the community centre. Somethings got to give Yas!

Akire · 25/02/2021 23:24

Nina was the one to make the kids move right? Was confusing as because of covid they couldn’t show it so was all rather strange. Yes Fluid that’s a very youth thing to be at the moment.

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 25/02/2021 23:29

It was more asha made the first move for the kiss

Deadringer · 25/02/2021 23:38

The thing with Asha and Nina is weird, they kissed and now everyone is acting like they are engaged or something. I agree that there is zero chemistry, social distancing doesn't help i suppose.

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 25/02/2021 23:41

Yes the social distancing makes it hard. It also doesn’t help that dev, Mary and co stand around watching them as if they are some sort of entertainment act waiting for them to “perform lesbianism” Hmm

Akire · 25/02/2021 23:43

They could move Nina to factory 10 a penny there so plenty time for her to chat. Move Tims mum to cafe that would suit her. Also Michael’s Gf could work there part time till the baby arrives.

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 25/02/2021 23:46

Oh I how they get rid of Tim’s mum soon. I can’t stand her.

eggandonion · 26/02/2021 09:12

If Geoff never divorced Elaine, and died intestate, will she and Tim inherit his ill gotten gains? Does Elaine still have the foster dog?

PennyRoyal · 26/02/2021 09:17

I thought Asha came onto Nina as a getaway from Corey rather than the other way round. Nina had shown only kindness and support to Asha before, there hadn't been any hint of flirting. Who knows!

PennyRoyal · 26/02/2021 09:19

@eggandonion

Don't think they will resolve the Geoff / who was he married to / where is the one who tim thought was his mum issues.

And yes, where is that little dog?
Come to think of it, there been no mention of Rover or David either. You think they'd have been taking them out for their daily exercise!

eggandonion · 26/02/2021 10:47

The only people I talk to outside the house are people walking dogs.

Wendyhause · 26/02/2021 11:58

I still feel sorry for those script writers who must be feeling ill with all the sleepless nights trying to work out what to do with the quads. The little darlings will be on chips and pizzas solids by now and any day soon will be crawling.
Enough to turn Chesney's ginger hair white.

eggandonion · 26/02/2021 12:13

I wonder if a writer who was leaving wrote the twins in, as a parting gift to future writers.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 26/02/2021 13:03

It’s going to get worse when they get older and can’t be hidden upstairs (in a two-bed terrace) anymore. What happens when they become teens and the writers have to find storylines for four related characters of the same age? Normally with four teens you’d have the odd romance, or one leading the others astray and causing a feud between two families... you can’t do that with siblings!

I also think there are very few storylines to go around for two couples in similar circumstances (Tyrone and Fiz; Chesney and Gemma).

@StillCoughingandLaughing

My belief is that the quads will be written right out of the soap. No idea how if they want to keep Ches and Gemma in. They often just don't mention a character for ages and that person seems to get forgotten but they can not possibly do it with quads!
They wrote out Abbie's two other children. The story was believable at a stretch but they would have to come up with something miraculous to blank out 4 children in one go. Let me think, a secret millionaire relative emerges and offers to give the quads the life Gemma and Ches can not afford to do. Nah. Or (rubs chin) is it out of the realms of possibilty? This is soapland so absolutely anything can happen.
Any other ideas anyone? Hmm

StillCoughingandLaughing · 26/02/2021 13:25

I think the whole family will be axed. I think the producers will be reluctant to lose Chesney in a way, as he has the whole ‘grown up on screen’ legacy, but ultimately the quads will be too big a problem to solve long-term. Any great storylines they might invent for Ches and Gemma could easily be given to Fiz and Tyrone, who are pretty safe thanks to Tyrone’s legacy as a surrogate Duckworth - plus they will want to keep Maureen Lipman, who has been one of the few big hits of recent years, for as long as possible.

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 26/02/2021 13:28

Yes they will write out Gemma and the quads at least. Hopefully chesney too. Maybe he’ll take his sister with him. I’m getting too excited Grin

Akire · 26/02/2021 13:45

They have to win the lottery and move away. Then Fizz and kids can go visit them
Anytime they need to write her out.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 26/02/2021 14:44

Or maybe Cilla could marry a a rich old man who drops dead. She could then offer to give her grandchildren the life she never gave her children.

FlowerOfTheValley · 26/02/2021 14:51

Yes the only way - listen scriptwriters (I use the term writers loosely) - you can write the quads out is by their moving away with their parents.

With four children, plus Joseph who would obviously have to go too, the parents will need support. You will then have to have Paul, Billy and Fiz leaving as well to help out. Sean will go to as a friend for Fiz.

Scriptwriters please do one of your stories where someone new on the street is only there because they are secretly related to someone already on the street. Step forward Daisy - Gemma’s long lost sister! She can then clear off too.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/02/2021 15:27

No Flower - it's time for a troop-carrying helicopter/ dirigible/ skein of migrating geese to crash into Yasmeen's community centre, which is full to bursting with street residents celebrating the end of lockdown and home schooling.

Then they could get rid of all the characters who have become an embarrassment, and the "writers" have no idea to know what to do with.

It would also introduce some new characters - Police Cop Barry (as a rival for Gary), hunky Fireman Stan, clean-cut Dr Killdeer, humble (but stunningly beautiful when she takes her glasses off) forensic pathologist Lola De La Cruz (who turns out to be one of Ken's many illegitimate offspring), and mobile chip van owner Vernon (providing tea and battered sossidges to the emergency teams). Vernon could be a coming character with a trained singing ferret. Or summat.

We need the slate wiped clean so the whole lotcan start again.

eddiemairswife · 26/02/2021 15:46

They need to build some strong stories around the existing characters, and not introduce characters all the time. I want to see a resolution to Gary's murder of Rick. And can someone enlighten me about Rick's body. Did Gary move it?

Akire · 26/02/2021 16:15

There are some people like funeral man and nice police man who do come in and out without having to live there and never leave. More and more crazy stories with no one speaking to anyone else is not sustainably surely in 2021

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/02/2021 16:23

They certainly need to do something eddie.

I don't know why they have to make everything ridiculously outlandish all the time.

Rea life contains enough drama for anyone. Down-to-earth stories like the ones we used to have would be fine.

Yes - an occasional domestic violence storyline. or loss of a child etc but not ALL the time and ALL together. It would actually be much more powerful to concentrate on one strong theme at a time and really think about how people would react to this happening in their family/ street/ community.

Just let us have well-drawn characters coping with real-life situations - and treat those situations seriously.

icecreamgirl94 · 26/02/2021 16:31

I just feel like the cast can’t be bothered anymore. I’ve watched all my life but the whole thing just feels tired at the moment, like everyone’s just going through the motions Sad
