Christ I didn't think I could get more annoyed after Mondays episodes but last night just took the biscuit with the funeral farce.

I'm disgusted with the writers having Steve carry on like that, how fucking disrespectful to make fun of Tim while he's in a hearse, to make fun of the dead coming back to haunt him while the mother of his dead child is a few feet away scrabbling at anything to believe her son is around her.

They've really hit rock bottom with the writing team at the moment, it's bloody dire.

It’s like they’ve decided they’re doing the grief story with Leanne, and therefore don’t need to show us how Steve is coping - whereas actually the contrast could be really interesting.

How old is Nina? Isn’t she a bit too old for Asha? I can’t believe Dev’s reaction..... I’m going out so you two can canoodle on the couch! WTH.... I know she’s 16 but I find Nina creepy and it’s nothing to do with the black goth gear I feel Asha being groomed. It just feels so wrong.

I think Mary would be more likely to say lovely ladies, or lovely boys. I think the actors should be able to challenge scripts.

It would be good if the scriptwriters dug deeper, and we saw Leanne slowly picking up the pieces and coping, and Steve, who appears to be blocking out the death of his son by acting like a six year old, hit a wall, and the aftermath. But that would take insight, clever writing and empathy. Due to the current lousy writing, I doubt it will happen.

Bad taste - the funeral - just really poor - in a year when many viewers have lost people, funerals are small impersonal affairs, and they go and dismally fail at a comedy angle.

It's all wrong - the funny bits are cringe and clumsy - the comment from Mary highlights this.

Very disappointing. Am loving Classic Corrie though - but it really does show up how poor it currently is.

If The other twin was gay can’t imagine Dev would be encouraging them to “get jiggy” while they were out either. That’s problem when gay men are the norm and very few gay women in Corrie and else where.

As things stand if Asha and what’s her name do become a couple that’s only 2 gay women.

Tracey was temporarily gay and cheated on Steve but that seems to have been forgotten about.

Yep two very new female gay characters as opposed to I think 6 male gay characters. 5 of which are long standing characters. Ajay is the only recent arrival.

Plus the way cafe girl is hanging off I’m not sure she is gay probable more bi or some other new thing I’ve not heard off.

Far more typical in my friendship group to have gay women as characters where there are older been married had children and now are settled down in a long term couple.

This went through my mind, too. I would hate anyone to be watching and wondering if that is how funeral directors etc behave around the deceased - because they don't. They are very respectful of the deceased and of the families.

Silly as she has a huge house what a 3/4 bed when everyone on the street has least 2 to a room. She could buy a one bed flat pay off her debts run the community centre and have plenty left over.

Yes agree on Yasmeen. It's not good just getting annoyed and ignoring the debts, and Aliya is being so kind and patient with her to try and help.

Perhaps Yasmeen can move into the community centre, i don't think it's being used atm, and sell/rent out her house. Also Geoff got an under the table payment of 40k i think for the house, what happened to that? I would really like it clarified whether Yasmeen and Geoff were legally married, and how the hell he sold the house without her agreement. I think the writers are taking us for fools, it's very annoying.

That would make sense - maybe that’s why they’re reminding us she owns it?

If Tracy and Steve bought Yasmeen’s house, maybe Daniel and Bertie could move in with Ken? Daniel is a bit isolated at the moment.

I think I’ve been watching a different Corrie than some. I’ve never thought Nina was very keen or forward towards Asha at all. Certainly not grooming. Asha was the one who was keen and Nina doesn’t appear to have changed towards her - just behaves like when they were just friends. In fact she’s rather cool towards asha. There’s zero chemistry that’s for sure.
