Join the MN Coronation Street thread today and you too could have an exciting lifestyle where you earn your own money, set your own hours and most definitely do not end up eating the chocolate off the Bounty at the bottom of the Celebrations tub out of desperation! Absolutely not a pyramid selling scheme, hun!

Ah yes, Wetherfield International Airport, round the back of the tram station.

icecreamgirl94 · 18/02/2021 11:18

@nildesparandum thank you for that, that’s a lovely thing to say. We’re definitely not calling him Craig’s, or Norris Grin

Rhinosaurus · 18/02/2021 11:18

@icecreamgirl94 the younger sibling was mentioned on classic Corrie by Bill Webster recently, I think he was called Carl.

Silenceisgolden20 · 18/02/2021 11:22

Ah yes, Craig, who deals with all the Corrrie St police business! You'd think at least 2 police would be attesting Ray if he's that dangerous.

Like Karl Kennedy in Neighbours who was not only the local GP but was up at the hospital all the time.

Rhinosaurus · 18/02/2021 11:23

Craig has somehow morphed into Corrie Super cop, omnipresent and at all crime scenes and the station and now even the airport - he’s a one man enforcement unit!

I guess by the way he has breached confidentially left right and centre to his friends and neighbours can be explained by him mysteriously bypassing all police training, and being a PCSO one minute and a fully fledged police officer with access all areas including CID the next.

I wondered where he had gone in the friend scene - asking Fay for a date perhaps? Wouldn’t a police officer have gone in and checked for signs of life, and if necessary start basic life support?

icecreamgirl94 · 18/02/2021 11:29

@Rhinosaurus oh thank you, I’m glad they remembered him, even if it was 20 years ago Grin

TheLaughingGenome · 18/02/2021 11:34

Karl Kennedy did brain surgery once, I seem to recall. He was certainly involved in it. I don't think I'd fancy my GP having a crack at drilling into my frontal cortex. She's not so hot on stuff like rashes, tbh, at the best of times.

The omnipresence of Craigy is getting ludicrous.

eggandonion · 18/02/2021 11:37

I suppose if they reflect the reality of going for a walk, going to Lidl, judging Mary down the street for having a visitor, it would be deadly dull.
I think the writers who read this thread must feel undervalued.
Craig's ears though...

Rhinosaurus · 18/02/2021 11:38

@TheLaughingGenome my GP Googles everything and then looks it up on NHS direct and offers me a print out, perhaps there was a step by step you tube video on brain surgery for Karl Kennedy?!

Honeyroar · 18/02/2021 11:38

Could be worse, imagine Craig’s ears and Paul’s nose!

Rhinosaurus · 18/02/2021 11:39

@icecreamgirl94 he even gets a mention on the Corrie wiki page!!

coronationstreet.fandom.com/wiki/Carl_Webster

Roussette · 18/02/2021 11:41

Awww bless Craigy! He is everywhere, bullet proof vest at the ready!

I can imagine he goes back to Wetherfield Police Station, hears about Ray at the airport and shouts 'this one is MINE' and tootles off to the airport to bang him to rights!

He'll be the SOCO (Scene of Crimes Offier) and Forensics next week!

StillCoughingandLaughing · 18/02/2021 12:07

I often wonder why they’ve never introduced ‘Our Carl’ - especially now we have Classic Corrie to remind viewers (and the writers) that he exists. He could be a useful character; as long as he isn’t played with an Allo Allo style German accent. Maybe be could be like Bethany with her Milancunian dialect.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 18/02/2021 12:12

Does anyone else visit the Corrie Facebook page... and worry about the logic levels of the average Brit? At least once a day there is a post saying ‘Am I missing something?! I thought we were in lockdown - why are they all at the pub and in restaurants?!’ Err, because it was filmed over two months ago and probably scripted even further back?!

Someone even said yesterday that it was nice to see Maureen Lipman back at work after the death of her partner last month. It’s like they think it’s live.

TheLaughingGenome · 18/02/2021 12:24

It’s like they think it’s live.

A lot of people think it's real, let alone live!

Fancy missing out on the chance to slag off the writers. They're depriving themselves of a treat.

TellingBone · 18/02/2021 12:31

I was a bit mystified by the explanation of Craig's nickname 'Clogs'.

He said it started off based on 'Dutch courage' >> 'Dutch' >> 'Clogs'

But what relevance has the phrase 'Dutch courage' to do with Craig? Did he once get drunk on duty and disarm a bank robber or something?

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 18/02/2021 12:31

I'm hoping Ed's brother is played by the same actor, leading to hilarious misunderstandings.

Grin

Is Ronnie a twin brother? Aggie looked very worried. My prediction is one of the sons is Ronnie’s son. Grace noticed her worried look so I’m sure we’ll have this story wrapped up by 7:14 on Friday.

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 18/02/2021 12:36

A lot of people think it's real, let alone live!

What do you mean think it’s real??? It is real! Shock Grin

eggandonion · 18/02/2021 12:38

They didn't say he was a twin but I'm optimistic. Grace is up to something.

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 18/02/2021 12:38

Apparently “Dutch courage” was because he is brave. Which is proof that the writers are, in fact, GCSE students because who else wouldn’t know that Dutch courage means having a drink to ready yourself for something scary?

eggandonion · 18/02/2021 12:40

I had to explain Dutch courage to my dd who is 24, and has a proper job. I can imagine other nicknames, but less PC.

MsMiaWallace · 18/02/2021 12:43

Is Debbie alive or not do we know? lol!

Congratulations icecream he's lush!
Love your dedication to the thread!
Clearly you had baby at home in the bathroom during Corries ad break!

Rhinosaurus · 18/02/2021 12:45

@StillCoughingandLaughing you’re right. “Our Carl” would be a useful addition, and have the advantage that he’s never been seen in Corrie, so no new head worries! Maybe he will come along to the Kevin and Abi* nuptials?

*my phone auto corrected Abi to “asbo” Grin

Deadringer · 18/02/2021 12:47

Just what we need, another Bailey. Hmm I agree with pp, Aggie has history with him, he is probably Michael's dad. There will probably be some dna shenanigan's and Michael will find out that Ed Mr Boom Box is not his father.

eggandonion · 18/02/2021 12:48

My dh is team Debbie, he's very concerned.
I think they should have a site where you can see episodes from when your babies were born . When my dd2 arrived I watched corrie, had tea and washed up before going to hospital. As I recite on her birthday every year.
