doghair

I cringed myself down to a size 8.

I felt uncomfy when it involved George and just as uncomfy when it involved Cam.

Backs I can understand needing scratching. But chins/beards? You have hands, scratch it yourself.

And don’t purr because that makes you look like, well, a pussy.

Ewww.

This series has felt like certain individuals were deliberately put in harm's way emotionally for our entertainment. Surely it has trashed any claim the ixperts had to a professional career. Or has their main career always been media whore?

Ladyks3 · 10/02/2021 10:08

What about when Susie’s dad said “where’s your drink” & Billy said “I finished it” when he really hadn’t? What a strange thing to “lie” about? 🤔 Susie is awful for sure, but if Billy constantly does strange things like that then I can see how you’d get frustrated.

Pickledpenguin · 10/02/2021 10:55

Maybe he meant as in he was finished drinking and did not want to drink more?

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 10/02/2021 10:59

I don’t think anyone is disputing Susie’s behaviour - she has been awful.

But I couldn’t be doing with a constant liar. A constant victim. Someone who professes that he cares for his new wife when how could he? And someone not spotting when she was vulnerable and pressed ahead with his agenda. Sly pokes.

But most of all, I didn’t like his
shout of ‘you’re my wife’ when she didn’t do as she was told.

I’ve been on the end of that. On my wedding night. Projection? Maybe. But I see something awfully similar.

I’m sorry because he clearly has issues and he has been exploited by the tv people.

But I don’t think he is the victim he is making himself on to be.

I cringed when Jules told her parents they had waited four weeks before being intimate. They didn't need to know!

I think the 'my dear', etc. was because Suzie kept calling him darling in a patronising way. At the end Billy said I've turned into you Grin

Silenceisgolden20 · 10/02/2021 13:07

He hasnt been a constant liar.

And if someone is telling you have no balls in front of everyone the way she did and talking down to him, he's prob had enough.

No way would this be accepted the other way around if he was a woman and be told they are playing the victim.

Silenceisgolden20 · 10/02/2021 13:08

He is a annoying, massively, but she is an entitled bully who thinks she can talk to people how she likes and calls it being strong.
In fact, she's the opposite.

All the above is opinion only!

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 10/02/2021 14:00

Yup jane

You don’t go telling your old folks that you waited a whole 4 weeks to be intimate. Not necessary. Even if they might be gagging for grandchildren as much as she wants to be a mum.

silence I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on Billy. I think he has lied. I think he has been too full on and a liar. The Miss you when she is sat next to him, telling her he cares for her after 3 minutes when how can he possibly when she has treated him badly and (trying to be) ordering her about when her dad told him to ‘handle’ her.

Make no mistake - you’ll get no argument from me about Susie. She has been acting like a wrong un on so many levels. Her behaviour has been extreme sometimes but I do think she toned it down latterly.

She is acting like some sort of pantomime harpy but there is something about him that makes my kidneys curl and I think he would have brought out my full on defensive inner core of cow in a heartbeat.

And you will note the word acting. There is something about the two new couples that scream ratings rather than relationships. There may be more to the pantomime than I thought.

The proof of the pudding will be if the exposure will help any of the contestants find love in the real world or in the sleb circles or if they attract fans who will worship them as they wish. That will be the measure of the people they really are - not who they’ve been told to be or thought how they should be for the longer term so they get more money for staying in.

I would be surprised if some of them have even found love. Insta and Billy spring to mind. But I will concede I found the pair of them ‘off’ from the get go.

I think instaJ is hideous for giving Micko hope where there is none.

Dan has said consistently that he is honest when he is being anything but.

At least Susie and Bully have finally been honest and said they don’t like eachother. That to me is better than playing the game so that you can hurt two other people.

What do I know though? I picked a man with a hidden violent temper and the next one cheated for years with the help of his mum and sister.

I know nowt 🤷‍♀️ 🥴

The ixperts want to be ashamed of themselves choosing a bunch of people who seem to be riddled with insecurities.

It isn’t entertainment. It is people baiting.

HagenDaz · 10/02/2021 14:22

Quite correct OP. This show has real people in it, not actors playing characters from Ibsen. And I bet there is no support network for them after the show has finished. No wonder reality show contestants don’t fare well back in civvie street.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 10/02/2021 14:33

I do think some of them are being ‘encouraged’ to be something other than they are. Or to exaggerate part of their personality/ play the game/ be wound up tight/whatever.

But because it is a reality show viewers will take that as how it is. Maybe not so much this series as it has all got a bit ‘Bobby in the shower’ now.

The side eyes or bad smell will follow some of them for years.

As I say, if they find real love after this, then we will know how they’ve been portrayed has all been a bit of a croc.

Fame will not be all it is cracked up to be for some of them I’ll wager.

It should be a marvellous joy filled programme. It is more like Hostel than little house on the prairie.

OP posts:
SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 10/02/2021 14:37

I haven’t watched Hostel.

I’ll just put that out there.

I think it would make my eyes burst.

I know everyone says Martha and Michael are dull, but I have to say if my son grew up to be like Michael I’d be very proud, he comes across as a genuinely polite kind young man.

But we've only heard him say about two sentences. And he justs sits back when Martha shit-stirs. Blinded by lust rather than seeing her for the vain, vacuous person she is.

AKissAndASmile · 10/02/2021 16:18

A particular newspaper is reporting that Susie has been branded the most hated bride, with viewers saying she is worse than Ines. They're describing Billy as 'kindhearted'. I'm team Billy here. Susie is awful, and he's correct that her family and friends are enablers of her poor behaviour. Id hate to think how she treats the elderly people she looks after

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 10/02/2021 16:20

Catching up

Cyrelle wont ever have a relationship whilst she is in an abusive relationship with her brother.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 10/02/2021 16:22

The my dear thing is horrifically cringe

Cant even deliver a good comeback with verbal strength.

Benjispruce2 · 10/02/2021 17:15

Well done Billy!

Benjispruce2 · 10/02/2021 17:16

Oh no he’s back! Just leave ffs!

Trunkysbun · 10/02/2021 17:57

@JaneJeffer

Billy was so funny saying he was looking forward to being tough with Suzie and then having an awkward fight with the pink fluffy cushion. That scene gave me the best laugh of the whole programme Grin

Suzie is a horror. I worry about the old people she looks after. That smirk when Billy said her intentions for doing it were false. He got that right.

You're so right about her being a carer for older folk, she's malevolent and cruel - certainly not who I would employ after this
Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 10/02/2021 19:54

I think suzie wants to be Cameron Diaz. Even that black top and white skirt was like a copy from "the holiday"

Welshgal85 · 10/02/2021 19:59

This show has been my guilty pleasure in lockdown! 😂 I think Cyrell’s brother is awful and controlling and not helping with the issues she has. I feel bad for Nik as he really did try!

Susie is just awful and so entitled. I can’t imagine her being a carer!? Billy could have stood up for himself more but I do feel a bit bad for him, I really don’t think she ever gave him a proper chance and all her ‘man up’, ‘grow some balls’ comments are very toxic.

Annoyed that there is a bit of a repeat of the Innes& Sam affair going on now with Jess and Dan. I don’t get why they always say they have to stay so they can see the other person? I’m guessing they mean because they want a free stay in Sydney and if they left the show they’d have to pay for flights to visit eachother 😂
