Know nothing about this but have found some C5 original dramas quite good!

For anyone who like me is still trying to find something actually worth watching.

The80’s, maybe it’s all part of the twist? Maybe the mum has moved or followed him? Maybe this isn’t the first time she claims to have seen him?

Yes, it could be her rather than everyone else! Maybe it's not the first time she's been like this?
Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2021 12:46

Watching now

Wouldn’t the police do a dna on the child. Ask parents to see his birth certificate or baby pics

Surprised ex hubby isn’t more believing

And yes no school would touch her with zero exp recently

Will report back after seen the last 30m

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2021 12:53

@whiteroom

Not convinced yet. She somehow managed to get a music tutoring job at the school very conveniently after a 5 minute interview without any teaching experience, and possessing a sketchy job history and wearing the worst bedspread coat known to fashion. I know it's a drama but c'mon. Channel 5 has another series starting Saturday The Disappearance with a similar theme - missing child and family secrets.
@whiteroom what time. I can’t find it. Thanks
Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2021 13:17

@JaimeLeeCurtains

What she should be doing is watching Keeley Hawes in Finding Alice and getting ideas about DNA tests, instead of gallivanting about.
Ha ha

Yes a hair caught in her ring

Seen all now

A little physco turning up at his house

Graciebobcat · 02/02/2021 13:46

i they must laugh at some point!

Suranne laughs quite a lot in Scott and Bailey.

Ladies' Most Miserable And Quirky Detective Agency"

Sounds brilliant. I have a fantasy detective agency series in my head starring Sheridan Smith and me. Set in the 1960s, for no other particular reason than we might both look nice in the outfits and I have a theme tune in mind. Sort of cross between Endeavour, Call The Midwife, Murder She Wrote and Scott and Bailey. I am tall, she is short, hilarious japes ensue. Needs work.

the80sweregreat · 02/02/2021 14:26

I think Sheridan would make a great 1960s sassy detective with Graciebobcat!
You would wear better clothes than this woman is currently wearing and run around in an vintage open top car with a nice scarf on to keep your hair in place , a bit like Grace Kelly and always get your man.

norwegianwoodpecker · 02/02/2021 15:44

Am struggling with suspension of disbelief here. Will try and persevere

whiteroom · 02/02/2021 15:58

Blondeshavemorefun
It's this coming Saturday on the 5* (5 STAR) channel 9:00pm.
It might be worth a watch if you enjoyed The Family

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2021 16:04

Found it @whiteroom. Sorry was looking at ch5

Ski Doesn’t say what is about but I have seen two progs called that

One about a boy at a birthday party and one about a teenage girl at a festival. Wonder if either of those

CriticalWoman · 02/02/2021 18:52

So many plot holes.
Not the least being how can you lose a body in a lake and reach the assumption he must have drowned in it? Although I suppose some lakes are very big Confused
I think it's something to do with egg donation and IVF. A dodgy clinic used her embryos for another couple, and twin son of dead son is now living with his dodgy (but not guilty of child abduction) dad?

Cally62 · 02/02/2021 19:02

Great call...

Placebo...Brian's son.

GrinGrinGrin

purpleme12 · 02/02/2021 19:02

@JazzyGeoff

The coats are truly shite. Every time she gets a missed call voicemail I expect to hear

'Hi this is 2001, we'd like our jackets back'

😂 this made me chuckle
Knittingnanny · 02/02/2021 19:06

I like the twin ivf son theory, but what about the scar?

purpleme12 · 02/02/2021 19:06

I'm enjoying it

But I'm never one of those who are bothered by ridiculous plot lines 😂

diddl · 02/02/2021 19:10

Oh Lord it's tedious.

I mean I want to know what's going on but I'm only 20mins in & a lot of that has been skipping forward!

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2021 19:31

As usual I seem to be the only one enjoying

I’m obv easily pleased 😂😂

But how can the police say he drowned but no body

Was grandad meant to be looking after him while having his hand on another ladies leg

Plus back to dna. Surely police would go rounds and say to eliminate from enquires

Knittingnanny · 02/02/2021 19:34

I like the fact that it is on 4 days in a row as I forget what’s happening, especially as I’m watching The Bay and Finding Alice as well!

UnusuallyUsual · 02/02/2021 19:41

I'm watching this with my daughter... albeit we're 100 miles apart.
The first thing I said was they need a DNA test... and the second was that no school would employ her with no experience (Ok she faked her qualifications) and then have her start practically the next day. I'm liking the theory of ivf/twins but yes that doesn't explain the scar.

norwegianwoodpecker · 02/02/2021 19:47

So he's been gone 9 years and can't be more than 14? So went missing around the age of 5. She recognised him from a distance abs knew who he was immediately Confused

Ditto And Marcella
the80sweregreat · 02/02/2021 19:56

My dh is obsessed with Marcella.
I watched a bit of it and I must admit Anna Friel is very good with her new hair do but I didn't watch any of the older ones so I'm not sure what's going on!

I'm in a potential situation here where the MN thread on a programme could be more entertaining than the programme itself...I shall perhaps stay for the duration!

Yes, me too! I often stay with a dodgy drama or reality show because the mumsnetters are so funny !
