I remember Sophie and Mel's death on Hollyoaks in 2006 the earliest.

Rainbow or Hartley Hare on Pipkins.
Probably around 1977

Listenkid · 08/01/2021 18:00

Andy Pandy

Gatekeeper · 08/01/2021 18:03

Bleep and Booster around 1965/6

Greenteandchives · 08/01/2021 18:10

My dad. I was very puzzled as to how he had managed to get inside the box.

KylieKangaroo · 08/01/2021 20:19

Sesame Street!

Caspah · 08/01/2021 20:25

Now I really know I'm old > 'Rag, Tag and Bobtail' - 'Watch With Mother'.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 08/01/2021 23:11

I vaguely remember Will O the Wisp. Evil Edna used to scare me.

bitheby · 09/01/2021 00:12

No idea but I know the first thing I saw on video tape: Charles and Diana's wedding.

Dogscatsandsparrows · 09/01/2021 00:13

The Bohemian Rhapsody video by Queen on Top of the Pops. Christ I'm old.

LittleBoxes · 09/01/2021 00:15

Bagpuss, and being very disappointed that it was in black and white. Cheered up when it suddenly turned colour!

NovemberR · 09/01/2021 00:15

HR Pufnstuff...with the boy who played the Artful Dodger, Jack Wild? in it. I didn't grow up in the UK.

Just googled it on YouTube and it is mad!

DramaAlpaca · 09/01/2021 00:19

I can't remember, but I know it must have been in black and white because I remember getting our first colour television.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 09/01/2021 00:26

Watch with mother, pebble mill at one, playschool, bagpuss, magic roundabout. Sorry can't narrow it down.

First specific thing I remember is when we got our colour tv, the man tuned it in & Tom & Jerry was on. I think it was about 1973 & I was about 4. I was SO excited to show my Daddy when he got home from work.

Lurleene · 09/01/2021 00:27

I used to love a show called Barnaby. I can vividly remember being in my back garden playing with my next door neighbour when my Mum called me in to watch it. He said he would go and watch it on his telly too. I was amazed that Barbaby could be in more than on telly at once. BLEW MY MIND Smile

LarryUnderwood · 09/01/2021 00:35

A music video, possibly on top of the pops, for bananarama or Adam ant.

MrsEricBana · 09/01/2021 00:38

We had a black & white TV and I remember very clearly going over the road to my friend's house to watch Princess Anne's wedding on their colour TV. I've just checked, that was 1973!

DustyMaiden · 09/01/2021 00:40

Budgie, staring Adam Faith

BackforGood · 09/01/2021 00:40

Watch with Mother

Would have included Trumpton, Camberwick Green, Mary Mungo and Midge, Mr Ben, Andy Pandy, Muffin the Mule.

Great programmes Smile

PubicMenace · 09/01/2021 00:43

Bill and Ben, such a weird show! B&W I must have been tiny, c1969.

Robbybobtail · 09/01/2021 00:44

Marmalade Atkins and my dad saying I wasn’t allowed to watch it!

bumblingbovine49 · 09/01/2021 00:52

Watch with mother ( probably in late 1960s or early 1970s), Bill and Ben the flowerpot men.

WhereYouLeftIt · 09/01/2021 00:57

@bumblingbovine49

Watch with mother ( probably in late 1960s or early 1970s), Bill and Ben the flowerpot men.
Same.

And the test card. Because telly was very far from 24/7 back then.

Directionerforever · 09/01/2021 01:02

Sons and Daughters at my Grandma’s house. Or possibly flying doctors.

Orpheline · 09/01/2021 06:28

The Jetsons. 1962. They used to face-time.

Ginfordinner · 09/01/2021 06:33

Winston Churchill's funeral in 1965.
